I may have posted this on Facebook at some point, but I thought it was perfect for right now. It's from yet another image series that I hope to turn into a book. Each image depicts the same hapless little bear faced with a different nightmarish, hopeless situation, accompanied by an inspirational quote. It's called Think Positive. You can see why I thought it apt during current circumstances.
Be safe.

Grayson Fogg graces us with another piece, a painting of a couple of witch sisters who specialize in ectoplasmic magic, or the extrusion of charged, energetic matter from their own bodies. This ectoplasm can be formed into talking heads through which they glean hidden knowledge and news from the "other side". But some say they can also create what might be called "energy golems", which are sent out to do their bidding. I'm not certain which is true, but I c...

This is the first of the recently-discovered cache of unfinished pinups to be inked. I always thought it would make a cute T-shirt (too bad I didn't have it out in time for Valentine's Day), but I penciled it back before the wonders of print-on-demand made merchandising possible for aging starving artists like yours truly. I'll probably reserve the hardcore version for upper tier rewards, though. Happy Valentine's Day!

One of several pinups I've done of Abbey as a geisha. My long-time patron who has commissioned these historical pinups taking advantage of Abbey's persistence through so much of recorded civilization is a stickler for detail, from woad on Celtic warriors to a geisha's application of Komachi Beni to the center of her lips. The research has led to a lot of story ideas...

I know someone here said they'd be open to seeing Grayson Fogg content as long as it's sculptural. Well here you go. This is Mr. Halliwell, a kindly old gent who'd give you the shirt off his back if you needed it...and if the shirt of a four-foot-tall pumpkin man would fit you, I suppose. He reflects my penchant for communicating character through body language and expression. I also make up little backstories for them when I put them up for sale.

I haven't shared any Grayson Fogg work in awhile, so I've got several today. The above is a graphite portrait called "Isaac and Bartholomew". I like how--to me--it seems like these two may not get along all the time, in fact Bartholomew (the one in the hat) is probably mean to Isaac sometimes, but you also know they'll be roomies forever. This is really my comfort zone. I love doing these detailed pencil portraits; I could get lost in them. And by the way, those ...

Bonus post! Here's a theme I've revisited several times. I love the playful, classic pinup feel. This one will be color. I'm probably going to put the final image on merch as well, if I can ever get a response from Teespring on whether I can have a second account (for Grayson Fogg)!

Hey, all. I just wanted to touch bases and let you know what's going on with me these days. I know most of you are probably itching for some actual comic content, and that's coming. I have a couple more commissions to do, then I have a big commission, in the form of an adult Far West short. I'll be posting those pages as I do them, so that should be fun. It features Meg and some ogres, and if you're familiar, you know how much s...

You might have noticed that--and there's no polite way of putting this--in commissions of Abbey, her ass is often the, uh, focus of attention. I suppose this should come as no surprise; in fact, I am largely responsible for this. It's the way I draw her rear end, it's just such an irresistible target for the eyes...as well as other body parts. But somehow I doubt you'd have it any other way. I know I wouldn't. But following that logic, m...

Here's another Beauties and Beasts sketch, just completed. It features my favorite character of the series, Captain "Googie" Gugowski. In the finished piece, it will be night, hence the sleeping alien critters (they're known as "slugjaws", by the way). Maybe that's how Googie stumbled into the midst of them. But I think the fact that she has her ray gun yet hasn't used it (yet, anyway) shows that she has tremendous respect for life. I think the second I looked do...

(This was supposed to be a link post, but for some reason Patreon isn't registering when I paste the link in the field. So I'm having to do this as a text post, with the link down below, in the body of the text. This is also the fourth time I've had to do this from scratch, thanks to various Patreon glitches, so bear with me.)
Hey everyone. Believe it or not, I haven't drawn (or painted or sculpted or written) in days. Instead, I've been cleaning images and...

If you saw last week's post, this is obviously the second possible cover for Voluptuous Vampire Vixens, my planned tome of illustrated alliterations. I like both, but as I said last time, this one will probably win out, for practical reasons: There's more room for the title on this one, and the other has that darned full frontal nudity. Honestly, people, why can't we learn to accept and love our bodies...or at least bodies like these?

Y'know, when I get out of bed, my hair looks insane--or rather, it makes me look insane. (I've actually considered dressing as a mad scientist for Halloween by simply leaving my hair as it is when I get up and spraying it white). But women look adorable in the morning (even if they don't think so). It isn't fair. But if it results in images like this pinup, I'll grudgingly accept it.

Here's something silly to occupy you for awhile during lockdown. Word list is on the side... or you could try it the hard way, searching for words without looking at the list. But on the serious, this ain't easy. Words can appear vertically, horizontally, diagonally and backwards. Have fun-- and let me know if you actually find them all!

I just got a commission from the person who commissioned this piece, which reminded me that I'm pretty sure I never posted it. I think I went way more mild with hit that he wanted, but I kind of like that loaded moment, not knowing what's going to happen next. (Is Meg going to belt her one or pull her into the bath with her?) That's why I always stress to customers the importance of telling me exactly what you want in a piece. The details in a piece of this type ...

Hey all. You probably haven't heard, but there's this whole virus thing going on with lockdowns and closed businesses...it's a mess. Lots of folks are struggling financially in the absence of regular income, and one of the ways to make ends meet is sellin' stuff. The patron behind the above listing is a looonng time supporter of mine, so I thought the least I could do is try to connect him--someone with art--to someone who might be seekin...

My longtime patron who often commissions images of Abbey in different historical costumes has a much more expansive knowledge of period and cultural dress than I do. I usually have to research and study to get the details right. I'm sure many of you are wondering, "What's wrong with nude?", but it's nice to play around with different looks, especially with a character who could conceivably have lived through those periods and experienced those cultures.

You've all seen material for a book I hope to publish, called Beauties and Beasts. The other book project competing for my attention is Voluptuous Vampire Vixens, a collection of macabre alliterations, illustrated. For example, I'll come up with an alliterative line like, "The gargoyles' gargling garbage garbled their gabbing", then I have to illustrate it. A lot of them end up being tongue twisters as well. It's basically just fun, silly ...

A few years ago, I contributed to an adult anthology comic from Radio Comix, called Poundcake. The theme was plus-sized women. I did a short set in a fantasy world, in which a shy, chubby lady laments to her blacksmith friend that she can't get any guys interested in her. He reveals that he's had a crush on her for a long time, and, well, you can guess the rest. I did my usual going-overboard thing with the rendering, and the short kind of stuck out like...

This isn't what I was planning to post today; it surprised me when I stumbled across it looking for something else. I don't remember exactly why I drew this, or who she's supposed to be. Pretty sure she wasn't attached to any project, I just wanted to draw a faerie.

Well, here it is, finished. I drastically underestimated how long it would take to clean up this scan. I'm going to have to find an ink that produces true, deep, even blacks, without splotches and weird reflective areas. I also need to just rescan an image when there are too many cat hairs on it, instead of spending hours and hours removing them digitally. Let me know what you think. I hope the owner likes it!

This was a commission, so it's not necessarily canon in Abbey's backstory, but I have to admit it would be fun seeing her hacking her way through orcs or evil sorcerers or whatever the hell fantasy warrior chicks hack their way through.
Barring any more disasters this week, look for bonus content on Friday and Sunday!

This one may be a bit difficult to make out on a small screen; it has a lot of detail for a sketch. The living creatures are made of carved stone, and the stone floating above the female figure's hand will be glowing and casting colored light over the scene.

I wanted to have the finished, gray-toned "Above and Below" piece to sha...

Here we have the last of the series of Abbey pinups I was recently commissioned to do. As I think I mentioned before, the pieces were to become increasingly daring/lewd as the series went on, hence the use of the "Naughty Bits" banner. I wonder--if Abbey had been doing these as a lover's gift for Paris, who do you think would've been taking the pictures?
More all-new content coming later this week!

I'm currently working on a commission that's a little more involved than most. Basically, I was given the theme of "above and below" (my words): a cutaway depiction of something happening above ground, and whatever is happening directly below. I brainstormed a list of possibilities, and--big surprise--I settled on the idea of grim, no-nonsense (and no fun) monster hunters out with their torches and pitchforks, led by a kind of Van Helsing type, and below ground, ...

This one's pretty straightforward: a pinup of Nessie and Kat getting familiar (which, let's face it, would probably happen within about thirty seconds of them meeting). I don't actually remember if this was a con sketch or a commission. You do enough stuff, and sometimes it all starts to blur together.

Here's a rare little tidbit. Years (and years) ago, my publisher asked all the artists to make up simple "Be Back Soon" signs to put on the table when we weren't there. I was a little embarrassed when I got there and saw that everyone else had actually registered the word "simple", and done basic block or bubble lettering and maybe a smiley face, whereas I had completely overdone it and produced the above image. I like to think that maybe it at least got a few mo...

Here's a commission of Fire (from Fire & Brimstone) engaging in what has got to be her favorite pastime. What makes me say that? Well, she's getting her back pasture plowed by almost literally a bull--a minotaur's gotta be pretty close--and she looks like she's saying something to the effect of, "Is that all you got? Fuck me already!" A booty call from Fire must be exhausting...and possibly damaging.

Another Beauties and Beasts piece, obviously. This is one in a growing series within the greater series, featuring Space Captain Gugowski, AKA "Googie". ("Googie" is the name for that particular style of retro futurism envisioned by futurists in the '50's, so I thought it was appropriate for this character.) I've sketched so many involving Googie that I may set them aside and do a series just of her. The various aliens that usually figure in these pieces are fun to design, too,...
