Spent the day off working on a summer Nick illustration and I think it came out okay! He's drinking a piña colada (my favourite "summer" drink) with a few blueberries as garnish and rockin' his summer trunks today. I love getting to the end of a piece and making alt versions so I saved a purple-ish option as well. I wound up going w/ the original concept outlined in the last post because it lent itself to the narrative more. Without it, the siblings would've needed to give more exposition and I want to challenge myself with the "show don't tell" storytelling mantra. Finished yesterday and we've got a little lineup here! Cotton managed to get coerced out of her star clothing and jumped at the chance to wear a dress Judy wore when she was her age! I like to imagine this is actually a photo taken in the Town Square by one of those trees. Judy got this dress after Sam nagged her to get a dress Judy was eyeing. Worked in 3D last week and forgot to post lol. The goal is to use the 3D as a basic trace layer since I'm not terribly good at drawing layouts. Took a second to get into a groove but I eventually found my stride in one night.
