June ended at a tepid 24.5k words. Nothing to be proud of, but no point in hiding from it either. Need to keep setting goals and aiming high. That should at the very least allow me to clumsily stumble forward in a "1 step back, 2 steps forward" kind of way.

Phew! Survived the hottest week in over a hundred years! temperature getting over 30C is quite rare here already, but five days of 32-36C is pretty much unheard of. Without the magic of air conditioning its kind of just trying to not pass out.

Anyway. Ended up a very busy week. And combined with the illness last week resulted in only having written a disappointing 22k words so far this month. A far cry from the 40k I was aiming for.

So, looking at my word count up to today, I've written 14,5k words, averaging 1,3k per day. Which means I'm on a good track to reach 40k this month. Which would actually be massive! Just a couple of years ago I considered 300 words to be a great writing day and viewed a thousand words as some mythical goal.
