This has grown to be my favorite scenebuild so far. I can't wait for you to see this. Everything's still WIP, I'm just jumping between animating, lighting and building now that the base shape for everything is more or less set.

Some more Xen progress done today. Lighting is still kinda WIP but I definitely want to keep the sun there for those juicy rim lights.

I'm thinking on adding some of the structures to the floating rocks but I might end up just keeping it "wild".

Xen project map building progress. A commission work got cancelled so I was able to start on this much earlier than anticipated. Hopefully won't take more than 2-3 weeks to wrap this up. I already love working with a strange scenery even if it's very bare bones so far.

Also, a question. Did anyone found the 2.76:1 aspect ration on the Combine March video to be too jarring? I personally love it, and am thinking of framing this scene in that, but I also have an ultrawide display so it is...

Hey hey,

Sorry for the sparse updates here and everywhere else as well. Life is happening unfortunately and I'm much more bogged down with work than I usually am. A new project might be as far as October but I'd really like to put something together by the end of September. This will probably be a XEN scenebuild that I wanted to do for a while now. New Pulse SMG

It kinda bugged me that the player's SMG differs quite a bit from the one the grunts carry, so I took the high quality player's model and altered it to match the grunts' model. And while there I remade the textures as well to match the new AR2. Still need to rig this bad boy but I'm really happy to finally have the grunts' SMG in such a high fidelity.

Model Test

A quick and dirty rig test looking for funny deformations or clipping ended up looking quite decent. I have to say I'm really proud of how this character turned out. Can't wait to use it in the movie project in the next decade or so.

Updated Movie Project Citadel Establisher

Made a new compile on the map with the updated Citadel model, and the city has been reworked quite a bit since I made that last render. I think the lights on the Citadel still need some more work as they feel a bit too Death Star-y? Also the particles are not in yet and will be a big part of selling the depth. Some rising smoke to the base of the Citadel, chimney smokes, little flocks of birds etc.

Video Early Access

The current project is finally finished and will go public on Friday, at around 3PM GMT.

In all honesty this turned out not nearly as good as I had originally imagined it, but 3/4 of the way through I didn't have the heart to scrap it. I do hope it's still an enjoyable watch.

Modular Combine helmet

Work on the current project has been a bit slow lately due to work but I managed to squeeze in this side project in preparation for the movie project. I still have to rig it so it can be taken apart nicely, and I also wanna make a brain (zombine ordinal) head swap for it.

Current project WIP

Another clip from the upcoming video. I probably worded the previous post rather bad, as this will not exclusively be a continuation of Anti-Citizens, but rather an aftermath or foreshadowing of my previous and upcoming videos.

At any rate I hope it'll be enjoyable. Probably still a week's work left on this at the very least.

Don't think I've shown this guy anywhere yet. I've no concrete plans for it as of rn, but I'd definitely want to include a couple in the movie project. Textures still need some work as there are some nasty seams here and there.

Movie project Citadel establisher

This is the first thing I started working on with the movie project. Even before writing a single word of screenplay I knew I wanted it to start with this shot, and hopefully it will. I was always fascinated with the sight of the Citadel, and while I adored the vista in HLA I wanted this establisher shot to drive the absurd scale of it home even more. This is quite outdated now. I've made some changes to the city layout since and to the citadel model and textures as well.

Transition Soldier WIP gear

This was an earlier concept for the transition period soldier with the grunt's backpack and a variation of holsters that went on the lower back. Ultimately scrapped these because it made the model a bit too noisy and the side view much too fat.
