Yes, I'm remaking the first 5 pages of DoD. Well, actually, I'm not sure how many pages this new version will have, because now there won't be that "Oh, you want to leave, Kion?" conversation.
The only thing I changed on this page was the last panel. But the next page will be completely different from the original. Though I haven't really decided how, yet.

You know the feeling when you have a to-do list but you get an idea and you HAVE to draw it before getting back to your list, because the idea refuses to go away? This "scene" isn't going to take place until page 100 or 101, but I just could't get those faces out of my mind...

My version of Janja's dad is a hyena that appears in the "hula scene" in the first Lion King movie. I think he's probably the only hyena from the movies who has colored "irises".

Yeaah, I said I wasn't going to post this page on Patreon because it was going to be colored by a volunteer colorist. But life surprised the colorist and they couldn't do it, so I colored the page myself. So here it is!

Aleela doesn't trust these new hyenas at all. Anana's name is funny because it's almost "ananas" = pineapple. She kind of looks like a pineapple to me. Though I picked the name Anana because it means "gentle"/"soft". :P
