This month, Adaptation Decay dips its toe into the waters of the "Teenage Tit Freak" genre of sex comedies from the 1980s. A high school grad named Jeff runs his grandfather's arcade with the help of a nerd named Eugene and a slob named Dorfus. This arcade happens to be a place where no woman can keep her top on, and a clown named King Vidiot menaces the regulars. Enter the local businessman who declares war against their degeneracy, and works to sabotage the community center for vaguely defi...

When you're an educational product, literally all you need to do is get the facts right. But it turns out Mario is on a mission to sabotage your kid's education by teaching them myths and lore about historical figures. It's devious in its way... but why is Mario doing it? What does Mario want?

It's time for the world to meet the Blue Morpho.... again! The Monarch takes on his alter ego in this banger of an episode, starting his quest to kill the food chain above him so he can finally arch Rusty Venture. Meanwhile, the VenTech R&D team creates an ill-advised substance called "God Gas" and it goes about as well as you'd expect.

It's no longer safe to be in the water, but that was usually the case to begin with... at least of you're Gary. The Jaws NES game has a bad rap because it's very slight, but it's pretty interesting, if a little grindy. We also talk about the ethical implications of eating shark meat, but only if that shark was a really bad dude.

This week we head east of the gate to Stormhill and follow the road all the way down through Mistwood and to Fort Haight. Topics discussed include Boc's storyline, the Night's Cavalry boss fights, the beginning of Kenneth Haight's quest, Mistwood Forest, the elevator to Siofra, and Fort Haight itself.
We would also like to remind you that we are experimenting with a weekly release format, meaning shorter episodes that come out more frequently, but with the same level of detail that we h...

Kill everyone on Reddit Island Fyrefest! Using superpowers and time travel. What a pitch!
It's no secret we're big fans of Arkane, which makes Deathloop exceedingly interesting in both it's triumphs and failures. The apotheosis of density in level design saddled with awkward invasion mechanics from Dark Souls. A timeloop element that works wonderfully in terms of narrative but hampers the pace of play. Deathloop is a game with incredibly high highs but also low lows. Take and listen and...

Gather 'round the stage birthday boys and girls! It's time for a special episode about what for some will be a fond childhood memory, and for others will be a resounding horror: Chuck E. Cheese and Showbiz Pizza. A product of the arcade boom in the late 70s, these combination pizza parlor / arcade / entertainment centers were a place where childhood could be embraced. We look at the history of the dueling companies, clown on the characters, and share our own memories of the place.

The Monarch is denied a chance to play with his new toys, as a subtle plot to mess with him begins. Meanwhile, Pete and Billy settle in as the R&D department at VenTech, and inadvertently torture Dean with some robot water. And Hank ends up starting his season-long love interest sideplot with Sirena, even though she is the daughter of his father's arch enemy.

Imagine if you will a city of dinos. Also imagine a game based on a movie about some teens visiting that city of dinos. And imagine Kole's odds of survival when trapped in the world of Sonic the Hedgehog. Picture all of this in your dreams.

Thank you Randall! Check out Crashcoral.com! (pw: crashcoral).
Oh, a cult simulator/management game with heavy lovecraftian elements, striking minimalist art, and a roguelike structure. Did someone leave this under a box with a stick tied to a string, trying to trap both Gary and Kole?
Not so fast. The Shrouded Isle has some potential and some genuinely good aesthetics, but the game is so barebones and numbers based as to pose an existential question: how much flavor, depth, and c...

Pete and Billy follow the bouncing ball all the way to New York in this focus episode that relies on some of the most obscure 80s pop music lore to date. Augustus St. Cloud has stolen Billy's prized possession: a red rubber ball from a Duran Duran video, and it's up to him and Pete to get it back. Meanwhile, Wide Wale attempts his first arching of Rusty, and the Monarch makes an important discovery at his parents' mansion.

This one gets a little... gross. Of course we begin by talking about ELEX, a game from the team that made the Gothic and Risen series, which we had never heard about before. It's not terrible, just generally shoddy. What IS terrible is the direction Gary takes this episode.

This week we dive into Elden Ring proper with our discussion of the intro cinematic, the tutorial, and all of the dungeons of the West Limgrave region. Limgrave is a beautiful and idyllic place from a distance, but up close you see some disturbing details that show the rot that it's suffering under the inept Lord Godrick. And things are only going to get worse from here.
