Season 5 begins with a short little special about everyone's favorite underdog, the band that came from nowhere: Shallow Gravy. This Behind the Music-style documentary walks us through the formation of the band that brought us the hit song "Jacket", and it's packed full of little jokes and fun references.
Special thanks to Joshua Jarett for our cover art, Gwe...

One Must Fall 2097 is an illustration that the Console/PC gap cuts boths ways, depending on the genre. While the PC exceled at first person shooters and RPGs early on, it struggled with racing games and fighting games... though it's not like they didn't try. An early effort by Epic, this fighting game pits Dorito robots against each other, with different pilots you cannot see.

This week's Bonfireside Chat is about the remaining two Bloodborne comic volumes, "A Song of Crows" and "The Veil, Torn Asunder". Given the strong showing in the second volume, we had our hopes set pretty high. Unfortunately, these overly abstract stories are big on style but short on substance.
"A Song of Crows" gives us some backstory on Eileen the Crow, and shows us what the process of going mad is like. "The Veil, Torn Asunder" is about an outsider to Yharnam who nevertheless succum...

Everything To Guppy is a bite-sized, four-times weekly comedy/gaming podcast in which Gary Butterfield (Watch Out For Fireballs) and William Hughes (The A.V. Club) attempt to analyze every single item, boss, character, and concept in the rogue-lite video game The Binding Of Isaac. They manage to pull it off only slightly less than 50 percent of the time.

We finish covering John Carpenter's "Apocalypse Trilogy" by looking at the 1987 horror film Prince of Darkness. The Catholic church has been hiding a terrible secret for millennia: the devil is real, he's trapped in a tube, and he's ready to break free. And it's up to a group of horny and creepy college students to learn his true nature and try to stop him. While this is our least favorite of the three films, there's still plenty to recommend it.

At least the title of the cartoon is accurate. CGI has been a blight on animation, generally, as the early 2000s wiped away most traditional 2D art and replaced it with cheap, hideous homunculi who vaguely gesture at each other while emitting wacky voices. And no show was more hideous than Butt-Ugly Martians. The cart racer based on it is pretty bad, too.

This month we take a look at two Christmas specials: one from the Pac-Man cartoon, and one from the Pokemon anime. The Pac-Man cartoon remains as baffling and boring as always, relying on the same non-joke about "chomping" for its entire duration. Meanwhile, the Pokemon Christmas special, "Stantler's Little Helpers" is very cute, but slight.
Somehow, ...

You remember this object from your childhood? Now it's covered in blood! That's the 90s industrial touch, baybee. Listen to us talk about this strange first-person pinball game and wrestle with why effort isn't inherently a bad thing, but it can certainly make things worse.

Someone really needs to put Ocarina of Time on trial for what it did to the pacing of action RPGs. We're too busy talking shit about Kevin Sorbo's bad, bad opinions to do that though.

This week's premium episode takes us to the biggest DLC pack for Fallout 4, Far Harbor. A missing person's case brings us to an island torn in three pieces, split among factions who can barely tolerate each other, with a buried secret that might bring the whole place tumbling down. This DLC is the best story content in Fallout 4 by far, and it's go a great horror atmosphere that we couldn't wait to talk about.

It'll be the most magical night of your life, when your dad hires a sex worker to dance the Cha-Cha Slide with you. The boys have graduated, and it's time for them to have their rite of passage, which provides the backdrop for this extremely sweet season finale that provides good closure for a number of our running plots.

It's a clash of the titans, as we clash about whether this game about titanic animals is any fun. And that makes for an episode that, on the whole, stays on topic! At least in comparison to the other episodes of this show.
