This premium WOFF! looks at the strangest of the DS Castlevania games.
Before they became all the rage in the indie space, you headed to the DS if you wanted to play a Metroidvania game. Konami eventually lost interest in making them, but before they did, they gave us one of our favorite entries in the series: Order of Ecclesia. It bucks the trends of previous games inspired by Symphony of the Night and focuses on tough but fair combat and a very expressive Glyph spell system. Is it for...

Everything To Guppy is a bite-sized, four-times weekly comedy/gaming podcast in which Gary Butterfield (Watch Out For Fireballs) and William Hughes (The A.V. Club) attempt to analyze every single item, boss, character, and concept in the rogue-lite video game The Binding Of Isaac. They manage to pull it off only slightly less than 50 percent of the time.

Reminder that you can read along with and ahead of the show by subscribing to Marvel Unlimited (we don't get paid for you doing that, so it's not an ad, it's just a cool service). You can also use Comixology, or buy the trades from your local comic book shop (the preferred method, if we're being honest). Be sure to check with your local library to see if they have them there!

The great IllusoryWall joins us to talk about content that was cut from Demon's Souls prior to release. Of course we hit the sixth archstone, but we also cover some interesting "what if"s regarding how Demon's Souls reinvented death in games.

Any day you don't wake up as Motaro is a victory. But what's not a victory is Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub-Zero, a misguided attempt to make a platformer out of the MK engine that looks into the backstory of the series' most famous character. It's just really bad!

The Longest Journey was one of the earliest games we covered for this show, way back in the winter of 2011. We'd intended to hit up its sequel, Dreamfall, because we heard good things. Now, finally, we've gotten around to playing it and... we're not impressed. The game's very strong opening gives way to a muddled story, and the shift away from a more standard point and click adventure game toward a 3D action adventure scheme does not serve it well. So, this one turns into kind of a dunkfest.<...

Kole, Ben, Dennis, and David talk about Minecraft Dungeons, how scary and uncertain things are right now, and we ask you to wish games into and out of existence.
The Grind:
- Kole: Alien: Isolation.
- Dennis: The Cycle. XCOM: Chimera Squad. Pokemon Sword.
- David: Steamworld Dig 2. Minecraft Dungeons.
- Ben: NOTHING.
The Multiplayer:
- What game would have the best/worst impact on the world if it no longer existed?
The End...

Hey! There's a lil improv at the beginning of that episode that deals with race stuff. This was recorded and scheduled before the current discourse. We had no intention of making light of the very real struggles of the black community and we recognize that now is not the time. We're temporarily pulling the episode and we'll be replacing it today or tomorrow. Thank you for understanding!

This week, we read your very mixed responses to The Surge. Some are down with the combat and level design, while others cannot get over the game's lack of identity. Who will you agree with!?!?
