Happy to announce that after 2 months of research and multiple interviews with people involved, the Power Glove script is DONE and is going into production! This will possibly be the longest episode yet. I'm hoping to have a rough cut by next week, which I will be sharing with you Patrons!

Thanks once again for all of your support. Without you, this episode wouldn't be possible.

Ristar Interview

Hello hello everyone!

I'll be working on an episode about Ristar after Power Glove. I have an interview lined up with one of the producers of the game from Sega of America. Any questions you have, send them my way!

Personally, I'm going to ask how Sega officially pronounces Ristar!

Thomas Zimmerman Interview

Hello everyone!

I'm excited to say that I have just confirmed an interview with Thomas Zimmerman, the inventor of the "Data Glove." This is the device the Power Glove was based on, and ushered in an era of virtual reality.

If you have any specific questions you would like me to ask him, let me know!

Power Glove Research

This week I'm wrapping up my notes / script for the Power Glove episode. Specifically, this week i'm researching what the Power Glove was BEFORE it was a Nintendo device. It's essentially the birth of virtual reality, so it's really interesting stuff. Can't wait to share this one!

Sega's 3 Biggest Mistakes?

Hi everyone! I'm back after a 2 week trip to SGC and ConBravo. I had my very first panel at ConBravo and I think it went pretty well! My video on Nintendo's 3 Biggest Mistakes went pretty well, and I've gotten a lot of requests to do one for Sega. So I'd love your input: What would you consider to be some of Sega's biggest mistakes? A few thoughts I had: Too many add-ons for the Genesis, Sega Saturn launch, poor handling of Sonic franchise.

Power Glove Highlight Reel

My Power Glove research is uncovering more and more. I spoke to William Novak last weekend about his experiences, and we talked for 2 hours. I learned a ton, and he was even kind enough to send me some rare videos on the glove. I've included one below for you all.

Milestone Goal Reached!

The $700 milestone has been reached! Thank you everyone for the support.

With this goal, I'll be able to get stabilizing equipment for my camera. DSLR cameras aren't very well equipped to shoot video on the go. This will also help with travel costs to get to these places.

I'm excited to try these videos out. I have an idea of how I want to make them and I think it's going to be really good!

Power Glove Questions?

Hi Patrons! I'm speaking with Mr. William Novak on Saturday about the Power Glove. William Novak was responsible for coming up with software for the Power Glove. To date, only 2 dedicated games exist: Bad Street Brawler, and Super Glove Ball. Are there any questions you would like me to ask him about the Power Glove? Let me know in the comments below!

This Week's Episode Topic

Hi everyone! This weeks episode is all about the Super Mario Bros. 2 / Doki Doki Panic story. It's a long one, so I'll probably be up late, putting the finishing touches on it. The next big episode will be on our voted topic, the Power Glove! I'm interviewing several people who were involved in it's development, so I'm excited to share some insight.

Lighting Upgrade

Ordered the new light kit yesterday. I'm getting some really nice softbox lights with a hair light. This will make lighting so much easier & better. I thought I would share a photo of what I currently use: Work lights clamped onto PVC Pipe light stands! I made these a few years ago and they work remarkably well for the price. I use parchment paper with a clothespin to diffuse the light.

Hi Patrons! Time for your input once again.

In between 2 week episodes, I'm planning to do Gaming Historian LIVE!, which is essentially a Let's Play with a twist. I can't reveal the twist quite yet, but I need your help in deciding what game to play!

So please, fire away with some suggestions. I'm really open to anything, so name some games!

As for what game? Let's just say I'll be sticking with my theme of history / information in the Let's Play, so maybe find a game you want to l...

Topic Vote: NES Accessories

Time for our first vote on a new episode! Your options are three infamous accessories for the Nintendo Entertainment System. 1 - Power Glove: Made by Mattel and officially licensed by Nintendo, it was an early use of motion control in video games. 2 - PowerPad: A Mat that had you playing games while getting a workout! Only 6 games were compatible with it in the US, but it's considered the precursor to Wii Fit. 3 - Rob the Robot: The "trojan horse" for Nintendo. Rob played two games with you ...

Fun Tengen Facts!

This week has been me completely diving into the research of Tengen / Atari Games and their lawsuit with Nintendo. A few fun facts you might enjoy... - Tengen got it's name from the Japanese game, Go. It represents the center of the game board. Atari also got it's name from Go. Saying "Atari" in Go is basically like saying "check" in Chess. - Becoming a licensee for Nintendo mean't following strict rules. One of them? A minimum of 10,000 cartridges per order ($9-$14 per catridge). - Tengen wa...

Proposed Show Change: Opinions Wanted!

Hello Patrons! I'd like your opinion on a possible change to the show. I value your input a lot, so I wanted to ask you all first. I've run into a dilemma recently with the show and that is: Time. Every so often I will come across a topic I really want to cover but the more I look into it, the more I realize "I can't finish this in a week." Between research, outlines, notes, reading, contacting people, editing, filming, etc, a week goes by REALLY fast. I'm a one man crew too! This is why some...
