I've been trying to keep a decent amount of new animations coming for the game recently, mostly because these days I find at least these shorter loops aren't too hard to add and I like the way they enhance certain scenes.

Extra angles seem to enhance the effect of them a lot too, which is good because they (sometimes, not always) don't require much extra work.

Weekly preview: would you like to see Shizu's ending or Mika's ending first?

Ack! I'm late on the weekly preview this week! Sorry about that - it's because I've been making up my mind what to show. You see...

I'm deciding between which ending to put in the next release.

I'm split between the Shizu and Mika endings, both of which are mostly written and illustrated, but not quite programmed in yet. The Mika one's a little easier to finish off, but I plan to get both done soon. It's just hard to know which to preview right now when I'm not 10...

tl;dr - This is from a new set of Shizu scenes coming in April.

These are from one of the new Shizu scenes coming up in the next release. Yes, in addition to the Nobuko DP - it's a packed release!

It's a pretty straight-forward scene, but it's one of a series that I more or less plan to culminate in the Shizu ending. They set up a couple of elements that will pay off later.

The game already has some stuff about catching Shizu following you, but I recently felt inclined to make a new one that might feel a bit more organic when exploring the shops district.

This scene was one I was considering trying to include in the v0.50 update, but since that update is technically kind of wrapped up and I think this would fit well into v0.51, I'll leave...

Review of the year 2022

Well, it's been quite a year. Globally, of course, but also for me personally.

I got COVID for the first time while travelling and had to spend a week in a foreign-language quarantine facility. My neighbourhood went underwater in massive flooding. I lost a grandparent.

At the same time, this is the year I launched Lord Goblin, which marks the culmination of a lot of work for me over several years and feels like a big personal achievement.
