*Small spoiler if you want to wait until the release*
In the video that will be up later today, I showcase the technique I use to create narrow Inner-city canals. Doing it the obvious way with the game's terraforming tools will not give me the result I want, so instead I use road networks to manipulate the terrain, so that the water simulation doesn't go crazy. If you notice; when creating narrow canals by terraforming, the water will act very weird and might not flood into your canals at...

Like my other houses, very basic, and pretty low tri - good fit for what I need them for though; sprawling 1960-1980's suburbs. Will likely start appearing soon on The American Dream. What do you guys think? This is probably one of the first asset prototypes to be released to you pledgers as a CRP (non-workshop) file that you just place in your local folder. I don't feel confident putting stuff on the workshop just yet. Very basic work as you can see! It is a 2x3/3x3 level 1 growable :-)

I know this is nothing revolutionizing, but a few months ago I started saving any inspiring Cities: Skylines screenshots I come across in a single folder. Most of the content i save is from https://www.reddit.com/r/CitiesSkylines/ - which I would advice you guys to check daily! But I also find good content from the Cities: Skylines picture feed within steam.
For pictures that aren't full-screen or can't be s...

I think my mic settings where a little off here and I haven't been super comfortable with having a big audience to my voice, so this video is not listed on my channel - but I figured I would share it here, too a small tight audience :-) . If I recall, I spent too much time discussing Russian political power-plays and geopolitics, and a little too little time playing Cities: Skylines ha! :-D

Will hopefully be ready on my channel within the next couple of hours! Here's a small teaser, showing one of 3 suburbs we get done throughout the episode. I especially like the apartment complex in the upper left corner, which the episode will ofc showcase a lot better!
Hope you guys have a nice weekend! :)

A whole new concept for me, making ghetto areas out of otherwise nice houses. Innercity areas usually contain some of the earliest suburbs of cities - and they very often used to be quite nice! Thus, I want to mimic this in Crescent, and I must admit that I love how this concept turned out!

Spend a bit of time this morning before class testing some of my detached building themes. I have spent a good deal of time "re-propping" a lot of assets in the editor. It's not perfect yet but getting better. I am attempting to have two main themes; one comprising of "early suburbia", mostly pre-WWII, and one comprising of 1960's-1980's circa. For post-2000's we already have wonderful creation by boldlybuilding and king leno.

A bunch of custom assets and a few vanilla assets taken through the asset editor, adding driveways to garages and pavement paths to front-doors. Gives this top view when letting an area grow after zoning.

So yeah, I've been giving blender another go.. Trying to create some houses that could fit this "missing segment" between Falselucidity's amazing Americana collection (pre-WWII) and Boldlybuilding and Kinglenos more modern suburban homes (1990's and onwards).
Very much a work in progress but it's been quite fun!

This picture is looking northwest, and thus taken from the southeast corner of Downtown Crescent - and area where very few old buildings still stand. Replaced by contemporary, generic office buildings and parking lots.

Central area (no trees) will host the downtown - which should give plenty of room for different downtown districts, the area is pretty big!

A bit more concept testing. New'ish apartments near this large suburban junction. Also some educational institutes, old abandoned warehouses and some commercial along the avenue.
