A long drive

Just watching the sun set is so special, I’m sure many people feel sad when the day is over. I know I used to. It’s like night represents only the end of a beautiful day and they just want to rush to the next. But the night is so special, the moon shines when the sun cannot, the stars light up the deep blue sky. It’s not the end of something, it’s just a continuation of something different.

Came across a cave

On the way back to the car we came across this tiny cave. My mum and I felt curious and wanted to explore but she got a fright and I ended up falling into the cave! I had a bit of a scare and got outta there as quickly as possible. It was hilarious, I’m sad I didn’t get to film it.

Skilpad is the Afrikaans name for tortoise 🐢

African open land

One of the most beautiful sights is the vast, open and free flowing hills and nature here in the Karoo

The Valley of Desolation 🌿

We made it to this beautiful spot, a real hidden gem in a small town 🌿 the hike was short but incredibly hot. I enjoyed every moment, connecting with the plants and seeing the view of these interesting mountains. I’ve never seen something like this in real life before.

I’ve been doing this since I was a little girl, it used to be the closest I would get to feel like flying. But after my first sail in August 2024 I really started flying.

Travelling to some warm climates

The Silly Lexi in one of her many natural habitats. A roaming creature moving from one place to another at her own pace adapting to various environments, not a female one can tame. (My little national geographic self written segment) 😂

Echoing cliffs

We reached these astounding cliffs at the very top of The Valley Of Desolation ⛰️ our echoes were louder than I’d expect them to be. There were loads of birds flying around as well. I was able to see how even in such a dry world you have all these thriving ecosystems 🌄 Truly beautiful

Hiking in the Karoo

I went for a short hike with my mum and father, safe to say the white hat and loads of water was the best way to go in this Semi-arid region.

Long road trips

Sitting in the back seat of a car for 3 hours, it’s not a very long time’s wait to get to a destination but it’s good time if used wisely. Self reflection is very important, and it is something I’ve been incorporating in my everyday life over the last week or so. Diving deep within, coupled best with nature, movement, or music.

One of my favourite parts of Africa 🌿 these wide open landscapes can be very thought provoking
