Doug on Demand - Episode 1

This is our inaugural episode! And, I'm quite pleased with the result. We gathered for a little more than two hours and went through 10 eclectic and wonderful pieces of music in an 'instant reaction' format. It was fun for me to lead...and I hope it's fun for you to watch.

It's now been over a year since I heard In Search of the Lost Chord, and I definitely wanted to include The Moody Blues in The Extended Play Lounge this year. So, I'm pleased to offer this first time listen of the 1969 4th album from The Moody Blues as a 'Doug's Choice'

It's an understated album, but it's a very lovely and warm listen...and it still sparkles with that Moody Blues magic. I hope you enjoy!

As many of you know, I've been battling the flu for the past several days. In fact, if you watch the Raven that Refused to Sing EPL, you can tell that my throat was already starting to be affected.

So, I've been taking things easy the past few days, and this viral flu is now departing. Earlier today, I recorded a Throwback episode featuring Rooster by Alice in Chains (from EPL 51). I'll release it tomorrow (Thursday).

Steven Wilson: The Raven that Refused to Sing | EPL Ep. 55

I'm very pleased to share this episode with y'all. In my opinion, it's the best prog album so far of the 21st century.

This was an odd reaction. There's six songs. I know two very well. I know one just a bit. And, I've never heard the other three. So, I brought along the piano cam for a few references, play-alongs, and teachable moments. I hope you enjoy!

Pink Floyd: Live at Pompeii | Extended Play Lounge Ep. 54

This is our first Extended Play Lounge episode where I'm reviewing a concert film instead of a studio or live album. We had a combination of concert films and live albums from big-time bands up against each other in the poll, and Pink Floyd came out on top.
