Wimbledon is in full swing in the UK right now and although I'm terrible at tennis, I wanted to mark the occasion with a corny comic, and what could be a better subject for a Sunday Single than a singles match? 🎾

'Gripping Yarn'

Here's a short strip featuring a little bit of simple animation. I just want to test how well Patreon handles a sequence of animated gifs. I'd like to add more looping movement to my comic panels - particularly if it helps to emphasize the action, as in this case. I think the excercise routine in 'Muscle Huscle' would have benefited from a similar approach. Let me know what you think.

Hello there!

I started making photo comics back in March, just for fun. I didn't know if anyone would be interested in vintage strips, corny old jokes or my funny face - I just wanted to try and build up my confidence, not only in my illustration work but also in my self image.

Four months on and I've been overwhelmed by the positive feedback. Thanks to you and your support, I've been able to spend a lot more time illustrating and posing in my pants and I'm having so much fun!

Hello there,

I've never set foot in the USA but its cultural impact on my life has been immense. From movies, cartoons and comics, to music, fashion and architecture, I've always been deeply inspired by all things Made In America.

Americans I've met in real life and online have been extremely generous, encouraging, helpful and kind.

The 4th of July has dawned here in the UK, so I'd like to be the first to wish all my American Patrons a very happy Independence Day🇺🇸🫡...

After last week's 'Go Figure' strip, a Patron suggested I should try wearing higher waisted bikini bottoms - I always aim to please, so these are the highest waisted pants I own!

I think this clownish look is more appropriate for this strip - particularly in the final panel🎈

Sunday Single - 'Space Invader'

Hello there!

This may not seem like a particularly summer-themed comic, but as a child I spent a lot of time, (and pocket money) in seedy seaside arcades. Space Invaders was a favourite along with Galaxian, Phoenix, Pac-Man, Donkey Kong and Dragon's Lair - yes, I'm a retro gaming geek and proud of it!

I discovered a fun fact while drawing this comic... The artwork on the side of the Space Invaders arcade cabinet was inspired by the 1956 sci-fi movie Forbidden Planet - the invaders...

I bought a new skirt this week and I can't decide if my top should be tucked in or left out. Obviously this is a very serious dilemma and I desperately need your fashion advice. What do you think?

Pin-Up - 'Peek-A-View'

Here's another attempt at recreating a Gil Elvgren classic pin-up painting, as requested by a Patron. I literally struggled with this one - everything that could go wrong, did go wrong. Here's a list of failure...

You may have noticed that I've revamped my Patreon banner for the summer - I've added a swimwear photo that features in this comic strip.

This new bikini didn't actually cost $500, but it wasn't cheap and I couldn't have bought it without your generous patronage, so thank you. I hope you think it was money well spent, as there are several more beachy strips in development! :)

'Bat Mouse?'

Here's another nerdy fact-based comic, similar to last month's 'Brat Man' strip.

This is a bit of a departure from my normal strips but I love exploring different styles, so I hope you'll allow me to be a little self-indulgent once in a while :)

I read The Bat Bandit when I was a kid and always assumed that the character was a playful nod to Batman. It was only when I recently revisited the comic and checked the publication date that I realised... Disney got there first!

Pin-up - 'Maid In England'

So, I ordered this French maid outfit intending to wear it in a 'what the butler saw' themed comic, but it looked so frumpy and awful that I had to abandon the whole idea.

I managed to take this one photo and with a bit of editing it turned out okay, but I think you can tell I don't look 100% comfortable.

Our plans may often be thwarted, but regardless, we should always try to put our best foot forward - and then give it a light dusting :)

Last week I fell down some stairs, got stung by a bee and bitten by a horsefly, (not all at once) so this is a non-fiction comic :)

As for the title... In the UK, things happen by accident and on purpose. In the US, things seem to happen on purpose and on accident, which makes more sense to me :)
