Patron Request - 'Rosie The Riveter'

Hello there,

I asked you earler this week for more pin-up suggestions... Sam suggested I should try some kind of WWII pin-up, (which I plan to revisit) while Andy specifically wanted to see my take on Rosie the Riveter - so here's my version of the iconic poster💪

As you can see, this was a very glamorous photoshoot! I had to borrow my father's overalls and they were rather roomy. They were also very warm under the lights...

This tennis-themed comic didn't quite go to plan... It was very difficult to shoot and my skirt just wouldn't behave, so I had to cut it short and my poses aren't quite as dynamic as they should be.

'Whistle Blower'

I'm feeling a little blue in this comic... I've made a few of these monochrome-style panels in previous comics, but I think this is the first fully tinted strip. Desaturating the photos really does help to tie me into the backgrounds and it makes me wonder whether I should have to stuck to my original plan to make purely black and white photo comics.

What do you think looks best? Full colour or monochrome? Maybe it's time for a poll!

Extra Bits - Comic Book

Hello there,

In yesterday's post, I mentioned the possibility of producing a Totty book and the feedback has been very positive. I recently put together a collection of comics from year one into a big chunky hardback - here's a video showing you a quick flick through... and yes, I do have the annoying habit of browsing through books backwards :)

I have to say, reading the comics in print is a very different experience to viewing them onscreen. I personally much prefer reading a ph...

'The Beauty Contest'

Hello there,

The moral of this story? Never enter a beauty contest in a small remote town.

I've been adding more long panels to my strips lately but they don't look too great when I slice them in two for posting, so I've also included the two compiled pages here.

I'm planning to produce a printed collection of my comics at some point and it's nice to occasionally deviate from the regular square grid.
