Spellhearts Game Design - Foreplay Mode

Here is a quick design explanation for how foreplay works once you get an NPC witch to take a liking to you:

When the witch’s lust is maxed (during prior conversation with player response choices)  and she is horny enough for the player to interact with her in a foreplay scene (done through VN mode with added interactivity features). This scene features a “foreplay system” utilizing point and click hotspots that raise her “arousal”.

Spellhearts - NPC Sprites

Naturally, since the game features a top down exploration/point and click mode, all the NPCs will have animated sprites and the world will have isometric style environments. 

The player can interact with NPCs, objects, items, etc. to explore, collect things, and solve puzzles.

Spellhearts - Game Progression

The player can interact with NPC witches in a non-linear fashion and quests can be done in any order or simultaneously.

There are 7 witch quests in the game as well as 3 side quest NPCs. A final event is unlocked after all 7 witch quests are complete.


The game is designed to have DLC and can be expanded easily with new characters and quests.

Spellhearts - Gameplay Loop

Here is a visual description of how the typical gameplay loop works.

Travel to a location in the town where a witch NPC resides to receive a quest. Quests can include completing tasks such as, fetching, recipes, puzzles, or minigames.

On the journey the player will also acquire gold and items (loot). Helpful items can be found or purchased in the town's various shops with gold.

Spellhearts - First Sprite Test

Here is the first sprite example wip from the game's visual/conversation novel mode (Alandra the grey witch). As you can see, things are coming along very nicely. MBFS v2 - Steam Sale and Localizations

We are aiming to release this Thursday June 24th for the Steam Summer sale!

The beta has yielded very few issues and we are pleased to say the newly coded game runs way better and all the new content has shaped up nicely. 

Version 2.0 will come with game text localization options for Simplified Chinese, Russian, and Brazilian Portuguese. For very near future patches, we will be adding Italian, Korean, and more.

MBFSv2 - Release Update

Hey guys! Quick update with the game release status:

The game is done being coded, but there are several issues that have delayed the release until later this month (very sorry about the wait).

1. Testing has been delayed do to some Steam issues. So, we still have to fix any bugs (although they are probably very minor).

2. The Mac version gave us some trouble (Engine version issues vs OS).

Sally v2.0 - Coding

We just started recoding the application for the new version of the game. We are gonna add some quality of life features as well as a general polish to the game and menus to iron out some of the small blemishes the original app has.
