General Update

Hey everyone!

Its been a while, so I just wanted to update you guys since I have been getting messages from a few of you on the next build.

First of all, I want to thank you all for caring so much about our project, it mean so much to me!

Building destruction updates:

No build this week, but but I do have this to show!

This is super early in development, but I am so happy I made a building smash today that I had to share :D

Note: I realized Unreal might take forever to get their physics system to a reach a production ready state, so I am gonna take a stab at city destruction using the old method. I would have to do some wizardry to make sure this is performant in a full scale city!

Build 1.3.5 Updates

Salutations Folks,

The Highlight of the week is crushable vehicles!

Took me a while because I needed to create a skeletal system for all my vehicles to use.

I then implemented a combination of procedural and predetermined animations when crushing/damaging cars.

This can be done by bumping into them, or specifically crushing them!

I also added some glass effects when colliding with vehicles.

Hair, Hair and more HAIR!

I finally found a great workflow to take any DAZ mesh hair and convert it to Unreal’s Groom asset. (I should probably make a tutorial on Youtube explaining the workflow since I haven’t found any examples).

  • Press H to change the hair
  • Press C to change the hair color.

While they are not completely polished, check them out when you can :)

Build 1.3.1 Updates

Heyya folks!

Got started on a new feature this build (drumroll please)..........Kill cams!

So far I implemented a POV cam, that has a 50% chance of triggering when performing an action. Its still a bit rough, but I like the progress so far.

I tried to better represent the POV by slowing down the giantess a bit, like traditional Hollywood effects for giants.

Build 1.3.0 Updates

Quick update:

Figured out the reason behind the see-through hair. Turns out there is a bug with the groom system in Unreal and how it interacts with translucent objects when your camera near plane is really short. 

For the time being, I fixed the issue by editing the near plane to be greater than what it is, and shorter when using the free camera in photo-mode (so you can get up close n personal ; )).  You can still see a bit of artifacts on the hair. This is because I a...

Spotfix 1.2.8 Updates

Since this is a spot fix, I just fixed what I initially broke :p

 I imported a new model and accidentally broke something in facial animations. New model is now in with facial animations working, Now she can munch to her hearts content.

I did however add a new hair I made in blender. Its my first try, so there is a few bugs with the physics, so I few tweaks are needed to polish it up. I also need to add a hair cap, so the base of her hair and head looks more natural.

Build 1.2.8 Updates

 Had to jump a lot of hurdles this week (Both in and outside SirShrinkums), so there is not a whole lot to show this weeks build.

But I did manage to add a few new shoe types into the game. Also included a variety of textures for each (Though I am only displaying one preset this build)

I also created my first hair model from scartch :D with physics and everything :D :D, but unreal wasn't able to compile it :(
