Monthly Schedule as 8/15/2020

So after mulling it over, I want to have dedicated days for uploads. Spending time to update a weekly calendar didn't make much sense if it was mostly going to be the same each week. I'll still occasionally upload outside of this schedule but these are the days where something will be posted. 

 
Every Saturday will be an Anatomy Sketches post day.

The 1st of the month will be for touching down on where the progress of Wolf's Blood and it's site are....

So, yesterday was good AND bad. Good because I'm back and all this other just overall good stuff but bad because my dog had a, as I described it to my sister, "Long story short, $400 later, we have to inject liquid charcoal down Lucky's throat at 4 hour intervals after an unintentional mild poisoning mishap."

I'm trying to do some more stuff with fluids, veins, and some gradient lighting. I'm not going to be coloring the next ones, they'll just be the line art and I'll be leaving the colors in the hands of my wife.

Some stuff came up yesterday and it had to be taken care of so that's why this one is posting in the afternoon because, well, I slept until noon today.

Hiatus for July

I'm going to put patreon on pause for the month of July. I don't think you guys have to do anything on your part but it says you won't be billed on July 1st. I can't juggle the workload and my headspace quite yet along with a few other things that have surfaced. I'll admit, I really don't want to do this but I said I would.

What I was up to

I tried to focus on mostly just getting linework cleaned up for colors. 

PB (done)- tried the airbrush tool, didn't really like it for anything other than clothes. Will go back to selection tool shading. 

Alphys (flat color)- Just fixed the body for what I think would be good. Old one was kind bad. Laid down the basic colors for Sweets to tackle.

A serious issue

Hey, I just wanted to be frank and open about this. Its not life or death but to me it is still pretty serious. I'll be having an appointment on the 17th in the morning. I was supposed to have it awhile back but I missed it.

I had to scrap the original files I've been working on. I just wasn't happy with how it was going at all and I was getting super frustrated. Today's Warmup

Had a little issue with my tablet when I moved it upstairs. In Paint Tool Sai 2, the app wasn't registering any pressure sensitivity from my stylus on my tablet. I use an XP-Pen Artist 22E Pro on Windows 7. It's been a lot forum searching and just trial and error but I have a solution for now. I run the program on an older setting and that seems to work for now.

Web Comic Site Update

In other news, I was also working on the website! I have almost all the pages set up as placeholders. Now, with the help of my wife, it's just importing photos, backgrounds, adjusting text, assigning music, and finishing up those character bios. After that, it'll be ready to open up to the public!

My days kind of blended together and the next thing I know I've missed appointments, forgot garbage day, and upload day, and most of what I had planned is in different stages of completion.

So yeah... I snagged on one project trying out something new. I decided to try painting using an acrylic brush setting and I actually really like doing it, I just have to get better at it. Tutorials and online videos can only get you so far, the rest you have to pick up as you go.

Computer Update!

Success! After spending most of the day after the part arrived, I got it to start. Unfortunately, I did have to rely on my backup and restore to a previous point in my files. I'm exhausted, but happy to at least have this part of my stuff back. I'm disheartened by the lost linework pack and I'm trying to decide if I have it in me to do it all over again. Work is still coming, so stay tuned. Thank you all for your patience in this. 

Sketchbook 3: Pages 28-40 (FINAL)

Here's the last of the useable sketches from sketchbook 3. I'll admit it's easier to work from the content with the pages being removed from the sketchbook but I am sad that it's not all together anymore. I should probably place an order for some tracing paper so I can avoid this problem. I mean the process will take longer but I like being able to archive these sketchbooks without damaging the original ideas.

Sketchbook 3: Pages 10 -18

Hey, I'm glad you guys are liking this really weird sketchbook so far. Oh, update! The shipment updated and I won't be getting the part until the 13th which is a major bummer. In the meantime I'll be trying to get nine pages out from this sketchbook every day until then. 

I'm also trying to get some new sketches done in a few other books, too. Link for yesterday's set is below! It's the same link but with a new folder inside.

Sketchbook 3: Pages1-9

Okay, so I didn't have nearly as much tracing paper(six sheets) as I thought so I did the unthinkable.. I used my box cutter to cut out all the pages from the sketchbook. I then went straight to the light board and did one redo on the fly for them. I was able to get through pages one through nine. I'll see how many I can get done today. I haven't actually gotten much time to get work done on this. Top row had roughs done on the day the characters were selected. Bottom three were done two days ago, I think. Top row was what I could get to today. The plus side is when I wake up, today, it's like 3am, I'll be able to just draw for the whole day. Under Control (WIP)

I just want to say thank you all for sticking with me, especially in these times. I am off of work for the next two weeks as I'm going to be sheltering in place with my wife, which means I will have plenty of time to catch up on my work here. Update - badness all around

I'll be blunt. I work in a grocery store, specifically produce, and we're a small town chain of three stores. The owner ok'd overtime. I have been working 10 to 11 hour shifts for the past week on 6 days a week. I had a vacation planned for the 25th though the 31st but it has been denied. I'm sorry. I will be back on saturday with a 14 part sequence featuring Coco Bandicoot that I never got to post becuase of all this. Stay safe everyone and be kind to people!
