Hey friends, I'm still trying to figure out the best way to share early access episodes with you all in a way that doesn't make the reading experience difficult or annoying. I'm very frustrated that I can't seem to find a solution despite asking other creators for advice. I thought of sharing it through a password protected tumblr blog but I don't think that is the perfect solution as everyone would need an account and passwords are easy to share. I did these over a year ago when the idea for Cinderelle first popped into my head, but I never thought even at the time that I would someday make a full story for them. I'm so happy to be working on this story about my special little guys with you all.

For the Patroen banner I wanted to make it very special and decided to show a moment where "Giselle" meets Ash... does he recognize her or not? I hope you enjoy the sneak peak at the princess as well, I can't wait to introduce her in the story. Damn my planning to not make her appear sooner!! I should have included a better peak at her in the circus episode!!

set tests

I drew Giselle's room over a year ago when I was still in school. I was made when I thought she would be younger, so it includes toys like the rocking horse, dollhouse, and tea set. I also thought that I would include a small bathtub in her room that would need to be filled by a bucket, but later decided to have a proper bathroom. 


The street concept art is very ugly imho but it was a useful exercise.

episode one costume reference sheets

I make simple reference sheets each time I change characters' costumes. For episode one, I thought of the colors pink and blue representing the character's emotions. Pink represents embracing the female's role in society, a willingness to perform in the customs of marriage and conformity of the time. Blue is Giselle's desire for freedom, a sky blue that reflects her innocence as well as her longing for independence. Dai Lu wears both colors in a darker, more mature shade, showing her attempt ...

Concept art for episode 1! The Mirror

So happy with the set for episode one and glad it doesn't look like this. I love the details of all the jewelry and perfumes on the vanity, but I'm not a huge fan of the colors or the character designs of Giselle or Dai Lu. 


Unfortunately all the props on the vanity would take me ages to incorporate into the actual comic, or I would do it all the time!
