small announcement regarding the next asmr stream

this is not a fun post to read, so tldr; members streams will not be a regular friday thing anymore for the foreseeable future.

my grandma has been in the hospital the past few weeks and she finally told me what exactly was going on today. to cut it short, she has liver metastases, which is a type of cancer from what i've gathered, and not the kind you can really beat. which means its terminal in one way or another. im not entirely sure how long she has left, b...

playtest #2 report

i played with my second friend today! we read quietly, and it still took 40 minutes to get through without any detours or anything, which surprised me. She said the intro is a bit lengthy and wordy, which i'll ask you guys for feedback on once we're doing the public playtest. she's going to be my main proofreader, so once we touch up the dialogue and i get the in progress area done, I'll schedule the stream here. Can't take too long anymore!!

Playtested it with a friend too, and it took us over an hour to play through, but thats reading it all out loud and some shenanigans, so the actual length is closer to 45-60 minutes, faster if you read silently.

really proud of everything so far! i think i can show you the beta soon.

today I worked on a pixel art sprite, and when I typed in the filename to save it, it said "file already exists"
Only to find out I had already drawn that exact sprite before

Hello!! I've been quite busy!

The past few days I've been making beta maps and spritesheets so I can finally put the rewritten intro into the game, and I finished the final one today! Which also was the greatest headache. I initially wanted the water texture to be a looping parralax, where the stars reflect off of without moving, but working with the plugins needed proved to be....... impossible LMAO
Still not sure if i was too stupid or if some recent update broke the code, but not...

currently putting in the visuals of the cutscenes with the current tilesets, and will add dialogue after. I'm going room by room, so I'm actually making noticeable progress, which feels really good.

as always, making the sprites, even just the mockup ones, is taking a lot of time. I hope i can make more significant progress soon. block for block, im building this world, and i cant wait to show you.
