By late May of last year, I’d started to embrace the shed behind my rental house as the space that would be holding my movement practice indefinitely and began tuning myself to it.  What could it afford me that traditional studio spaces hadn’t before?  The big sliding garage door opened up to grass, sunshine, and these dandelions.  A couple weeks later, their seeds blew across the ad hoc dance floor from the fresh breezes filtering through the space.

Early Hatching Clip

I found several VERY long clips of Marissa and I pretending to be in an egg but this was the last one of the day and is the direction the actual hatching material went. We found that elbows communicated beaks more clearly than noses, and we were able to mimic the sharp movement of pecking through the shell.
