Today's Art-ifact Poll: Early Concept and Deleted!

Oh no, it's old logos!  The bottom one was the earliest, the upper is just too kiddie.  But we tried.

Today's Art-ifact Poll: Early Concept and Deleted!

This week we're going to see some very early and often deleted concept from the series.

A very early concept piece of Wisp torturing a character with her own band of monsters.  Fortunately, I spy Lilith in the upper right going to rescue this bug-girl.  This is an interesting mix of old concept and deleted stuff, the bug girl was an idea of Whip having a girlfriend who for an unknown reason could understand him.  Then she was killed off for no reason.  Bummer, Whip. ...

Today's Art-ifact Poll: Commissions

Let's look at some old and random commissions!  In this Dreamkeepers themed one, Vi gets tipsy at the nightclub and loses her shirt.  An OC tiger is there too.

Indy:  "Don't be mad! It's not the only way we get attention, alright?  Besides, stripping isn't for everyone-"

Vi:  "It's not even hard!  ANYBODY can do it!  It's easy!"

Digo: "Vi, you're drun-"

Silk:  "Ss-ss-ss.  Let her show us how easy it is. &nbs...

Today's Art-ifact Poll: Mistakes and Deleted Ideas!

This is my favorite mistake.  Ever.  There are two big ones with Mace up above.  I think the book went to print with one still there, so the very first Dreamkeeper Volume 1 books have this issue, and it's probably the main reason we did a second edition right away.  Do you spot the two big problems?  Scroll down!

Prelude 511- Their Biggest Problem

...The Maestro is needed at his instrument.

Also I like how Muliebral's new uniform makes her look like a supervillain.

News on Prelude Collection 2 IGG- it is In Demand, and if we hit the next stretch goal before the book is at the printers, we will be making Gregori Plush. ($500 or so away:  https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/dreamkeepers-prelude-collection-2#/ )

Today's Art-ifact Poll: Mistakes and Deleted Ideas!

This is the very original lines that were intended for Volume 1, but after it was drawn, we decided Mace's face should be up to show expression, rather than look defeated.  It also had to be very clear that he didn't make this mess, and never touched the red pen tool.  The replacement art of his face will be tomorrow, it was Photoshopped on top of this.

A character we considered for Prelude, would be a secretary for Tinsel.  She was going to be a short skunk that made a jingly sound as she moved, so you always had a warning when she was coming.  Chances are, Tinsel fired her before she made it to colors.

Today's Art-ifact Poll: Mistakes and Deleted Ideas!

There's a whole deleted scene I couldn't fit into this week, it's supposed to be at the beginning of Volume 1 and opened on the Underlord explaining a bunch of lore for no reason, then having Mace wake up to leeches in the bed and running off with Paige.  We went for the boat and Paige scene in Volume 1 instead, but you can catch the whole piece in our Omnibus 1 in the back, as well as commentary about it.  This is a page of the line art that went with it.

Today's Art-ifact Poll: Mistakes and Deleted Ideas!

Before the first volume was done, the idea was that Dave would create 30 pages (a comic of material) every month of Dreamkeepers and it would appear in comic stores (when that was more of a thing, think 2003-2004).  That's a lot of pressure, to get art done like that, but this was the proposed cover idea for this imaginary comic book cover, if it appeared on the store shelf.  I'm not really feeling it.  Format matters.  Better logos do too.

Today's Art-ifact Poll: Deleted Ideas and Mistakes!

This week we're looking at deleted Dreamkeepers concept and mistakes!  This is 2003-2004 stuff.

Here, What if Troika members had logos everywhere, big capes, bags over their heads, baggy pants, and looked like super-cool-rave people?  Or not.  What about not.  This is a bit of a deleted idea, I guess.  I'm not sure if they can see through the bags.  Whatever makes this more cool.  What a mistake.
