Worlds away from bustling Rome, the Emperor and his wife had decided to indulge, bringing with them their favorite toy, gladiator Lodovicus. The fighter knew by now what pleasures the royal couple shared and gladly participated in the frenzy.

While this painting was a LOT of fun, I'm very glad to have finished it  <:3c It took me 4 days of leisurely working on it, on and off, but I  quite enjoy this pace. And of course I hope you like how it turned out!...

In their world though such things, kinda like now, are considered only accessible to people with wealth and power.

Hey guys so maybe you read the description of the other post already, but I wasn’t quite happy with how the painting turned out!! I tried editing the colors a little and this way they feel a lot more harmonious, it was mostly Ricks coat that bothered me in the end. This is before Rick is actually emperor, where he's subduing Gaulish and Galic tribes and Max is offered to him as a concubine. Though soon enough Rictus finds out just how well they fit together, with Max being the one who spurrs him on to fighting to become Imperator.

But the rays of the Roman sun couldn't penetrate here, so the underground pools of gold and old tiled floors where kept cool to the touch of warm bodies. Here, he'd taken his imperator and concubine, to share in a blissfully shaded delight after working themselves up into a hot frenzy.
