Another work week in the bag. This week we've been busy posing scenes and also rendering them out. The past few days our workstation has been running almost non-stop because of the queue! It's a lot for us, but at the same time just feels amazing to have a rendering queue. Nothing better than waking up to a batch of freshly baked renders.
This week we've been working on the usual posing and creating new renders. We also started coding the first scenes of Chapter 04 and testing the upcoming Freeplay scene and phone content.
So far, we didn't find any bugs. There are plenty of small mistakes of course, such as clothes clipping, but nothing major. These small render mistakes (or "fixes", as we call them) get fixed before the release when we enter the polishing phase. ...

Since last week we've built up a nice render queue to work through. There's still plenty of posing and rendering to be done before the next release, and currently we don't have a release date planned. We could throw out an estimated release date, but we don't want to stress it in case something goes wrong and we won't be able to deliver. So, no dates just yet.

This week has been business as usual, for the most part. All the sets needed for CH04 are now finished, plus we made some improvements to the Ember app. The actual content for Ember will remain the same, but we tweaked the chat to be more immersive and fun to to use. The upcoming weeks will mostly be spent on posing and preparing scenes for rendering.

This week we improved our skin textures. When skin textures get stretched too far—for example by a character having large breasts—it usually starts to look strange. We combated this by painting custom skin details on the affected areas of some characters. This means the skin will be smoother and much more pleasant to look at... for when the time comes.

It's been a hot week, but the characters don't pose themselves! ...even though that would be really nice. We made progress on the last remaining environment for CH04 and got started on rendering.
We also fixed an issue that's been bothering us for some time. To put it simply, an evil morph got loose and was acting all fucky. Some of you may have noticed it. But don't worry if you did or didn't, because it's been exterminated and won't be coming back....

This week we made very good progress in the scripting department, and we also finished two of the new environments for CH04 that we mentioned last week. They were really fun to work on!
The largest environment is still a work in progress and is coming along nicely, but it's not as urgent for the production of CH04 so we're not putting too much focus on it. We'll be ready to start rendering on Monday!
