This week we continued to focus on the script and made little changes to the upcoming scenes. Back in the CH02 and CH03 updates, we had branching moments for different scenes that were happening at the same time. 0.6 will have similar moments, and slowly but surely these moments will begin to alter events in bigger ways. The effect of the branching has been quite subtle so far but it won't stay like that.

Progress was slower than we'd hoped for this week. We faced some issues with the outdoor sets and lightning, but we eventually managed to find a way to work around it. And the parts that we couldn't work around, well... we'll just pretend those don't exist!
We've started post-processing the raw renders and coding them into the game. Beginning next week, we'll start implementing SFX as the coding of the current content progresses.

This week was mostly spent posing, set building, animating, and exploring new textures/assets. Alongside creating new renders, we played around with some animations that we were interested in trying before but couldn't implement due to rendering times. There are always little moments that could greatly benefit from some short animations (looping or non-looping) and for this update we'll finally get to try those out!

A routine week is behind us, and it went by without issues! Sometimes small and annoying problems can become part of the workflow and slow things down, but the beginning of this development cycle has been suspiciously painless. Last cycle, we started running into problems towards the end. Broken textures and poke-through everywhere... We've kick-started the hamster wheel for 0.6. There isn't much to report this early in the development cycle, but this week we've continued working on render fixes and some quality of life features. We also plan to make some changes to the main menu, including a new theme and newer portraits of the girls. The menu portraits are starting to look a bit... outdated, but they'll still be in the menu for those who enjoy vintage 2022 content.

It was a great week. We went over several quality of life changes for the game, such as adding auto-play and the option for players to customize their replay experience. We're going to keep this status update short (for some reason it's usually never short when this gets mentioned). This week we worked on restructuring the main menu gallery to allow for more images, tuning it for a better viewing experience, adding sub-folders and other future proofing changes.
Besides the grunt work of fixing renders and post-processing, we've also continued scripting 0.6.
This week we'll quickly reflect on the size of CH05, development decisions and some other little things. But we'll try to keep the status update short regardless.

This week was a nice grind. Lots of extra little tasks got done, including plenty of coding and SFX. The rendering out and creation of new content also went well. The end is near! The end of this development cycle, that is, and nothing worse. Last weekend we spent some time finding the source of some crashes and stability issues that were causing us headaches. This week we carried on with the edits and render changes we decided on previously. Some dialogue was cut, a few renders removed, and a couple of re-renders added to the queue. There was also some crashing during rendering this week. The source behind these crashes remains to be discovered, but they luckily didn't affect anything except mental stability. Just one of those perks of working with 3D sometimes.
