Partway through December, the Solid State Drive in my Laptop failed, completely and irretrievably. This resulted in a lot of lost work, since it had been over a month since my previous backup and progress was lost on a lot of key projects, including many stories, commissions and most upsettlingly, the Dark Strays animation on which I've been working.

This is turning into quite the epic project, I have to say. Dozens of hours have been poured into it already. It's kind of astounding how you can condense an entire 8+ hour workday into just a few seconds of animation...

For this month's poll, you overwhelming voted in favour of me putting together a long animation and well, I've put two weeks of solid work into it so far! It's up to about 1 minute 10 seconds so far (animation is slow, hard work) but it's getting there!

Just letting you all know that I'm working on that animation you voted for, but it's likely to be a while! I've been doing research and trying new techniques just to do the best job I can! Here's just a small example of how things are coming along. Credit goes to Dark Violet for giving me the idea for using a sine wave (cobbled together out of the ellipse tool) to give the tail a more even flow (after I spent hours trying and failing to animate the tail in an acceptable mann...
