Have YOUR say!

Hey all, I have two things for you today.

THE POLL

Please vote for your preference in the poll! [Below]

I want to 'brand' my museum series. Right now, there is little standardization between the videos I made on the Fieseler, Halifax, Avenger etc. when it comes to the title. This needs to change and over the past months I've been brainstorming a few titles by myself and some of your over on Discord.

Behind-The-Cockpit 1.5: 10min of my new video!

Hey all,

After the last couple of days of panic, calamity and disaster, I am here to deliver some good news. Above you will find the first part of the next video. It will be the first ~10min of a video that will be more than 30min long! I feel like giving you all access to it now, so you get a better idea of what we've been working on thus far. Feel free to give some feedback as always.

Four things still need to happen for this precise clip. That would be:

CPU Cooling is dead, long live CPU Cooling

Hello!

So after yesterday I hoped to bring some good news today. And I do have some good news but before that let me introduce you to a little situation I had this morning.

Today my CPU cooling decided to go into early retirement. It just won't work anymore and the CPU temp shoots up to beyond 70C in less than half a minute - and that in the BIOS. Of course, this is not what I call an ideal start into the day. Yesterday it was fine - today it is dead. Ironically, a few days ago I had thi...

Hey all,

So, my quest to learn my camera and get the best out of it continues. Today saw some success, and some failures. The success story is a short one and you can see it above.

One of the things that needs to improve in my videos is the intro. These need to capture the viewer, show him what he can expect and show the quality of what is to come. I filmed the 'true' intro yesterday and this short clip is sort of the bridge between that one and the main video. This worked out nice...

Production Update: Swiss Air Force

 Hey all,

Another update for all of you regarding the upcoming video.

Visuals (Animations)

All the visuals and animations have been completed. The majority have also undergone the necessary external QA and should be good to go. As I will add audio to them, I anticipate that parts of these will still need to be updated (timing/information etc.) but fundamentally they are all done.

Visuals (Filmed)

After my meeting with the YT ...

Production Update

Hey all,

Another update coming in right here. Since our last release (Fieseler Storch), I have once again been busy in the background working out how I am going to plan out future content. Part of this was continuing my work on the upcoming video on the Swiss Air Force during WW2, having a chat with my YT Partner manager and meeting someone from the YT production crew to see how we can improve ...

Behind-The-Cockpit 2.1: Fieseler Storch - Fi 156

Hey all,

Here's another clip from our upcoming video on the Fieseler Storch, giving all of you a brief look into the interior.

To-do-list on this video:

The raw edit is done, and the clips have been tightened and overlayed with relevant information, pictures and closeups. this goes for all scenes except those where I show pictures from the official pilot's handbook that have yet to be added. I have also beefed up the audio levels in the final edit (but ...

Behind-The-Cockpit 2.0: Fieseler Storch Fi-156

Hey all,

Here is an advanced look at one of the many scenes of our latest museum visit, showing off a magnificent STOL aircraft. The Fieseler Storch is a personal favourite of many and the full episode is shaping up to be more than 30min long! Plenty of time to give you all the ins-and-outs for this bird.

To-do-list on this video:

Right now, I have completed the raw edit of the video which means that all the main clips are set and linked to t...

Five quick updates

Hey all,

A lot has happened which accounts for my silence over the last week. So here is the run down and an overdue update for all of you.

  • Filming on location

I am back in Finland and will most likely head over to the Finnish Aviation Museum once more to film some of their exhibits. As you guys know, I've been in steady contact with them regarding content and they are extremely open to it.

However, there are some problems. ...

Behind-the-Cockpit 1.3

 Hey all,

Here's the next Behind-the-Cockpit! In this one I talk about some of the changes I have made to a scene (while showing said scene to all of you) and some of the reasoning behind this. Very important to me is uncovering some of the still unopened potential of my animation style, with simplistic, clean and clear-cut information transmission. This video shows part of that process.

As always, looking forward to your comments so put them down below! View Post

Sneakpeak: Fokker C.V.

Hey all,

Time for another sneakpeak!

For the next video, I will be introducing you all to a very special Air Force in the heart of Europe. Part of their planeset in the opening months of World War 2 was a mix of modern aircraft and those that hail from the late 1920s and early 1930s.

One of these is the Fokker C.V.

Here is a sneakpeak of its profile (without audio so far). There have bee...

Behind-the-Cockpit 1.2: The Colour Wheel

Hey all,

Another Behind-the-Cockpit for all of you. In this one I will talk about why colours are so important to my work, give some thoughts on how I choose a composition and show of my pallet for the next video. It might seem like a minor point but colours can make or break the viewing experience!

As always, very much looking forward to your comments. Put them down below!

Big News For Patreons

Hey all,

I hope all of you guys are doing well.

Before I get to the actual news, I want to say thank you: Over the last weeks, YouTube has demonetized several of my videos and permanently restricted ads on one. The fact that you guys support me here has cushioned the blow severely and prompted me to finally move forward in how I create content. And this is where the big news comes in!

Next video: The Forgotten Men of the Battle of Britain

Hey all,

This week's release will be about the 'forgotten' men of the Battle of Britain. In popular memory, three kinds of pilots are remembered as part of this clash between the Luftwaffe and RAF: LW Bomber pilots, LW fighter pilots and RAF fighter pilots.

Remembered largely as a defensive battle, this makes sense. However, during the Battle of Britain, RAF Bomber Command lost MORE men than Fighter Command. They too, alongside RAF Coastal Command,...

Sneakpeak: Polish Air Force

Hey all,

Next week will see the launch of quite a video on Luftwaffe operations during the Invasion of Poland. Here is a sneakpeak of what you can expect/ This scene concentrates on the disposition of the Polish Air Force in 1939. It is not yet completed, I will most likely add some numbers into the scene itself but you get the picture.

Comments and feedback are, as always, appreciated.

A Suspicious Lack of Aircraft

Hey all,

Here is today's video. As some of you might know, I was at Tankfest 2018 and took the occasion to make a few clips of some rather strange and wingless vehicles, nearly all featuring oversized guns of limited practical value in air-to-air engagements.

In any case, I hope you enjoy this episode. The video that was meant to go up today has been pushed back to next week as, due to my current sickness, I was unable to complete it in time.

Hey all,

Here is some exclusive footage for all of you, filmed at the Yorkshire Air Museum. It's a flyby by a Hurricane that made a brief but memorable appearance over the old Bomber airfield at Elvington.

Thank you very much for the support that allows me to go to such events and film content for all of you!

Also, I want to apologize to Jack R., David D. and David B. for having failed to include them on the Patreon list appearing in the video. Not quite sure how it happened, I presume it was because I had failed to update by composition before the final render. Make the mistake once and remember forever, so this should not happen again.

Sneakpeak: Bomber Formation

Hey all,

Quick sneakpeak for tomorrow's episode.

One of the thigns I've been thinking of doing for a long time was having voice actors reading out quotes. There shouldn't be an overload but it does benefit the content in such a way that it makes it clearer that 'another person' is speaking, making a transition to a quote more natural.

We will run a trial with this formula in this video. Above you can see the specific scene in question, voiced...

Sneakpeak: Lend Lease

Hey all,

Here is a quick sneakpeak of the upcoming video. It will be on the effect of Lend-Lease on Soviet aviation during WW2.

One of the 'sources' I found was the official history of the Soviet Airforce during WW2. That book, written in the 1970s in the Soviet Union, calls Lend-Lease 'insignificant'. A good reason then to have a closer look.

The video will come out on Tuesday since this is part of a 'light' collab with MHV and since I am th...
