Hey all,
Here is your early access to an upcoming episode. In this video I take a look at a Statement sent by Willy Messerschmitt to the Luftwaffe about his reservations about (or rather opposition to) the production of the Heinkel He 162.
There is no scheduled release on this episode yet as it is one of three videos I filmed with the help of archive files. However, I release it in early access today as next weeks release will be a sponsored video and thus might not be released ...

Hey all,
Here is your early access to the next Inside The Cockpit. This one is on the Dornier Do-31, a very special aircraft. As a prototype VTOL aircraft, it is close to unique.
Sadly, as mentioned in a previous post, the filming of this aircraft did not go as planned. I had to make some heavy adjustments and hope to 'redo' this aircraft when it is possible, sometime in the future. Nevertheless, I hope you enjoy this one!
Thank you for the support!

Hey all,
I interrupt regular service for an update to an older video from April this year. Back then, it was 'announced' that Germany wanted to buy Super Hornets. Of course, nothing had been decided back then, since the political and bureaucratic process was still outstanding. A few days ago then, the German Parliament allocated funds for new fighter jets, Eurofighters, not Super Hornets.
Next we...

Hey all,
One of the next "Inside-The-Cockpit's" will be this beauty - the Dornier Do-31, a purpose built S/VTOL transport jet! It was build during the Cold War when VTOL capabilities first started to appear together with the VAK-191B that already featured on the channel. It was hoped that a VTOL capable transporter could provide a valuable resupply asset if the Cold War went hot. The theory was that isolated units or rather frontline troops far away from an airfield c...

Hey all,
And now for something completely different. One of the things I often talk about with friends, colleauges or when on location, is how 'we' engage with history through popular products like Movies, Videogames, books, comics, music and more.
Of course, many of these projects get criticised about historical accuracy. While there is a case to be made against such errors, I think it would be good to have a look at the process of how these products are made and why the...

Hey all,
Here is a little compilation of some of the planes I filmed last and this week at the RAF Museum London.
As except for the Buccaneer I wasn't able to get a view into the cockpits (conservation and Covid-19 restrictions), these videos will be made into detailed walkarounds.
All the best and thank you for the support!

Hey all,
In this video I have a look at a summary from the Luftwaffe on comparison flights between German Bf 109s and Fw 190, against four different Italian machines. The German's even identify a favourite - but which one is it?
Big thank you to all of you who allow me to understake the research trips that result in these videos!

Hey all,
Two days ago news appeared that USAF seems to have flown a new prototype for their New Generation Air Dominance program (NGAD). While it is unlikely that this new aircraft has seen any substantional development, it is an interesting development within the NGAD program that parts of the USAF and Acquisition office champion.
As such, I thought I'd make a video on the subject and introduce it with a quick overview. Provided more information is released in the future, ...

The AT-6G is part of a long and proud linage of advanced trainers produced by the North American Aviation cooperation and in use before, during and after WW2. With more than 15,000 built, the 'Texan' was not just a fantastic trainer but also has a combat history under its belt.
Hope you all enjoy and thank you for the support, you make this seri...

Hey all,
Here is your early access to the next episode. In this video I talk about Radar during the Battle of Britain and whether the Luftwaffe should have taken it out. While reading up on this, I also noticed that very little has been written specifically on Chain Home during the Battle of Britain except for summaries and overall descriptions of the Dowding System. It would be interesting to see someone write an in-depth study in the future, as this topic might hold a lot of potential...

Hey all,
Here is your early access to an upcoming episode - this is an advanced copy and might still see some changes.
This was filmed end of Summer 2019 and was meant to be published in Spring/Summer of this year. However, do to Covid I have withheld from releasing it just yet. The reason is that the owner does passenger flights (which right now aren't possible) and publishing it during the pandemic would be unfair towards him. However, as early access it works.

Hey all,
Later today MHV and I will release a video we shot back in January 2020. We talk about some of our experiences with YouTube and how this has influenced the presentation of our videos (Titles/ Thumbnails).
On YouTube, the initial view gain is very important. A videos success is based largely on the amount of views that come in the first 12-24h. This is why sharing videos is so important but at the same time, the video has to look and sound interesting.
Remember you...

Hey all,
I am trialing a new series of videos that give an indepth look at aircraft and their subvariants. The Recognition guides focus on external differences (as these are what most people are exposed to on pictures and museums) and are meant to allow you to appreciate the difference between various aircraft models.
As a test run of how the series does, I am making episodes about five different aircraft to see how the series performs.
Episode 1: A6M Zero can be...
