Art crises aren't all bad I guess. I never really intended to finish this, but wanted to try something radically different from my usual process so I gave painting another try.
Its not perfect, but its not the undifferentiated pile of mud I was anticipating either so eh, it's something! More sketches and frantic 3am sketches coming shortly ✌️

This week I started some preliminary sketching for another monsterfy me commission I'm really excited about! One of the character traits was melancholic, so big lonesome sea bug guarding his underwater wreckage it is!
Been slowly chipping away at a personal illustration in between, but I've kinda hit a wall when it comes to how I want to render it so here's a lil snapshot of what I've got so far in the meantime.

Art and life haven't been treating me too kindly lately and on top of all that I'm coming down with something so it's been a struggle to start new things and tackle old things that have been giving me trouble, but I'm trying to dig deep and overcome at least some of the things I've been struggling with the most.
On the bright side I placed the order for next month's sticker early, so its in production now! Can't wait to share some photos with you guys when they arrive ...

This is a bit different from what I usually post, but I hope you guys still find it entertaining and/or useful all the same!
I was revisiting this sketch earlier and realized it illustrates the power of cross contours really well. My first attempt was flat, unsatisfying, but when I approached it again I took my time, drew through the forms(the red lines), and the result was something much more convincing and spatially aware than the original drawing.

Today is #thankyoupatrons day and what better way to celebrate than by sharing something that you folks have helped make possible.
