It's not nice to mock the dating habits of mad scientists. Scientists already aren't known for being the life of the party and having to juggle the extra pressures of mad science makes it hard to get out there and meet people. Especially when your only partner feels comfortable referring to somebody as "wretched" when they are likely in earshot.
