You always wondered how your little old grandmother could heft that hot, heavy cauldron when making her traditional winter candies. It turns out she her favorite pair of oven mitts are more than they appear.

Baking and cooking is an important part of many families' winter holiday traditions, so I thought it was time to put these festively embroidered oven mitts here for you to add to your own games.

Spell: Conjure Wagon Transportation

Inspired by a patron's post on Discord, this spell creates a wagon and a pair of oxen to pull it.

The oxen are not fast, but they are strong, and oxen are known to be easier to control and cheaper to feed than horses (why yes, I did spend too long online researching how much a wagon with oxen can pull, and how fast).

There are certainly faster ways for PCs to move over land, but this is a way to haul large amounts of weight at the same time.

Monster: Kalkúnsdraugur (a holiday creation)

It's the day after Turkey Day, and I got the idea for this vengeful undead bird while making a tasty, tasty turkey sandwich with last night's leftovers (and I'm about to have more for dinner in a few minutes).

I'm posting this one right away for everyone to use just because I find it amusing.

This old cast iron skillet was used for decades by an old woman who was famous for her cooking. It became the center of a bitter feud.

People that practice and train can get faster at running. This feat is for those who've put in the work to become faster sprinters.

This red-bladed sword seems to want blood.

This nice ceramic container is filled with ashes said to once be a famous sorcerer.

Spell: Feline Anchor

People with cats know how difficult it can be to move when there's a cute cat sleeping on them. Sure, that cat may not weigh much, but there's guilt  when you have to disturb them, so sometimes you just stay there.

This spell knocks a creature prone and puts a cat on them. It's an illusion, but it sure feels real and looks adorable.

Note to GMs: A patron that's on my Discord server pointed out that this might work as a Charisma save, and that is something to consider for your...

Treasure: Vira Blackstone's Spider Brooch (a holiday creation)

It's Halloween and a Tuesday, so I created this piece of jewelry with a spooky spider on it.

Like some real life treasures, there are rumors that this one is cursed or haunted, making it even more spooky.

NPC: Orcgozol the Everdead (an Orc-tober and holiday creation)

I went out to see Dracula (1931) for the first time last night, in a 100+ year old movie theater. The movie inspired this final creation of the month here on Halloween...an orc vampire!

Just to make things a bit more interesting, this vampire is a high level barbarian.

This is the final creation for Orc-tober, an entire month of daily, orc-related homebrew creations made during October 2023.

NPC: Falmak Grok (an Orc-tober creation)

This famous orc mage is a member of the School of the Flame, and he is expensive to hire.

This was created for day 30 of Orc-tober.

NPC: Kavchak Nul (an Orc-tober creation)

The orcish Sword of Night, this orc paladin has made an oath to terrorize her foes and victims.

This NPC was made for day 29 of Orc-tober.

NPC: Gah Kall (an Orc-tober creation)

This orc is quite unusual. She walks a tranquil path in life, refusing to kill creatures.

This is an orc who will use her inherent Aggressive trait not to rush to the attack, but to put herself between an attacker and another being.

This one is a day late, but was made for day 28 of Orc-tober.

NPC: Morc (an Orc-tober creation)

This huge ogre was raised by orcs and thinks he's one of them.

Jitu ogres are stronger, larger, smarter ogres that are native to my homebrew D&D setting, where they are a replacement for normal D&D ogres.

Morc was made for day 27 of Orc-tober.

NPC: Vorna Guurdomir (an Orc-tober creation)

This orcish woman is often called the Beast of the Water. Selfish and evil, she wields the power of a sea god and can transform into a great white shark.

NPC: Hagdor Bozkuroth (an Orc-tober creation)

This orc likes it when his foes fear him, and he has made a name for himself because of one of his favorite activities.

Knowing the bozku is Orish for "crush" and roth is Orcish for "skull" might give some clue to this guy's methods.

Grand List Poll: Early Access Tag/Flag

Greetings, patrons of the D&D arts.

While most of the tags/flags I use on the Grand List of Homebrew Content are permanent, the one for creations currently in Early Access are only temporary.

Originally, when the list was much, much, much shorter, it was easier to notice when something was set slightly apart with bold text and a pair of asterisks. Now, I'm not sure if it's of use for patrons.

This cave system, with an Orcish name that translates as "Cave of Ghosts", certain sounds haunted, making it great for Halloween themed adventures.

Believe it or not, orcs definitely have a sense of humor. This particular items proves that.

Originally made for and worn by Balnok the Strong, this armor can protect your from ranged weapons (and even let you catch and throw them).

This large wagon is just covered with easy to grab weapons and ammunition. It just happens to be pulled and guarded by four giant, armored boars.
