I've just finished designing an adapter board to allow you to power an IBM PCjr with an ATX PSU. I'm a fan of releasing early and often so here is the board design. I haven't received production boards yet but I hand etched on an it worked.
Here is a video that may never see the light of day as a main release. I had planned on modifying this with a cool new feature but it ended up not being realistically possible. Then that made my demonstration of it seem a bit lower effort as there was no better payoff at the end.
Additionally, I used a game console to demonstrate it which in retrospect was a poor choice. Game consoles already have correct colors. Then I realized that the Atari Jaguar, especially my setup, was a bit osten...
When I really get into the swing of recording videos I usually get a couple weeks ahead and have a solid buffer. Then I will start working on a more complicated video that will erode that buffer away. To the regular viewers there is still a steady stream of content. But if I'm giving early access here it could be unstable if I do that and always let Patrons have access to videos when they are done. So I'd like to put it to a poll, how would you prefer when I put up early videos?

I wasn't happy with the way the first video turned out. I re-recorded everything up to the recording demo.

One day I'll get something done sooner than the day before.

I'm finally caught back up on videos now. I'm looking forward to having more time between videos than I have for the last few weeks. I'm really hoping to get a buffer going again. I'm going to be changing up my patreon and I'll be doing early access videos regularly from now on. I'm going to update the description to reflect that.

I don't know if I would effect ebay availability yet but I'll be making a video about these in the next week or so. There are some on ebay now for rather high prices (don't get the $70 even though it's the cheapest, it is not the full setup). So this is just a heads up for my Patrons.

I'm not good at the whole "social media" thing and I've been ignoring patrons, my apologies. I've going to try to give some more one-take behind the scenes stuff like this. I think if I don't have to edit anything I'm a lot more likely to do more of these.

Patreon supporters will be getting earlier access than the date in the video.

I wanted to make this one available a little early because it's about something that's uncommon and inexpensive.

After all that I looked in the manual and it does indeed state that the port is IRDA complaint. So I need to put some more effort into getting this to work. I'll probably need to connect the original drive to a computer and pull off all the original files to see if I can dig out the real IR driver for this thing.
I don't get why it didn't work with the generic IR settings though. Testing the IR port on either the printer or the laptop with another device would help to trouble shoot this.
I didn't have any leftover footage from the bolt mod that would be interesting. So here's a sneak peak at something coming up
