SNAPCRAFT | Ch. 28 - Infinite Loop

Spring of 346, A.D.

“Alex, you’ll get stuck in an infinite loop there.”

Alex threw the pen away, frustrated. “I hate programming. Why do we need to learn this rubbish anyway? It’s not like we have access to anything that we can program. Daisy keeps all her babies to herself.”

“If you understand how Daisy thinks, you can anticipate her moves. Gosh. Weren’t you listening to Sunny?”

Alex shrugged. “Not really, no...

BlueFire looked at the meeting table. He had several windows floating around him, containing reports from the guild’s intelligence, forum posts and messages the Ogres exchanged with their branch guilds and allies.

“Are you sure?” asked Ogre again.

He didn’t blame his boss for triple-checking. The implications of Loki being responsible for this event were massive. “Positive, boss. There’s no question. The battle at the Forest Fortress, the drills over the last two weeks...

SNAPCRAFT | Ch. 27 - Cassilex Conundrum

Spring of 346, A.D.

Kai stood in the museum, in front of the maquette of the 162nd exams. He had a board beside him, where he was making a decision tree. He wrote on the board as he read from the trial runner log. He tried to discard all the emotion in the words of Cathy, that year’s trial runner. He wanted to strip the account to its bone until only logic was left.

“You’ve come quite a long way!”

Kai turned and found Sunny.

Everyone was running around hectically in the Titans’ Guild Tent in Greensburg. BlueTitan sat in his chrome armor and studied the faces of all the guild elders who had rushed here after the big news. Some were still absent, but he couldn’t afford to wait one more minute. They had to make a decision now.

He stood up to signal his intention to start the meeting and reinforced it by activating the meeting table’s projectors. The loud conversations simmered down to a tense quiet. “...

SNAPCRAFT | Ch. 26 - Root Cause Analysis

Spring of 346, A.D.

Kai stared at the fire, looking for answers to his conundrum. Alex was head over heels for this Cassie chick. She seemed nice, but they weren't supposed to chat with other sectors. There was a reason for that. And what were the lovebirds going to do about the wall, anyway? No one got through. Should he tell on him? Should he help him?

"Kai!" Barked Sunny. He looked at her and found her staring daggers at him.

"Yes, Sunny?" H...

HC:Pacifist | Ch. 153 - The Event

Roth had been walking around for several hours, waiting for his racial skills to come off cooldown. Had he known that he would be stuck for almost 15 hours because of his change to [Boar Form], he would have taken out the trash in human form. He had to be patient. To increase the chances of his plan against the caterpillar working, he required one of his zoomorph forms.

The long cooldown of his forms was a hassle, but his race would have to be nerfed if it weren't for this. Due to his e...

Need Your Help! Book 3 Cover

Hey, everyone!

I hired an artist to make the cover of Hidden Class: Pacifist 3, Antioch. He told me that he'd send a rough draft, have my approval, and then he would send me the final product.

I was surprised when he just sent me the final product without having my input. Here is what he sent.

What do you guys think? Although I have an opinion, I don't want to influence you guys. What alterations would you suggest? Or is it just perfect the way it is?

SNAP CRAFT | Ch. 25 - Narrow Mindedness

Spring of 346, A.D.

“Isn’t she awesome?”

They were walking back to the city, and Alex looked like a sugar addict who just had his fix. He was on a love high.

“She’s very pretty,” Kai managed to spit out. He couldn’t argue with Alex there. The girl was gorgeous. “I still can’t believe you learned sign language for this!”

“It’s a good skill to have in the exams too!” Defended Alex.

Spring of 346, A.D.

Kai looked through the shimmering field that blocked sound between sectors. The girl on the other side had golden curls that shone so brightly in the moonlight that it made Kai wonder if the girl's hair was reflecting the moon or the other way around.

She had intelligent eyes, and her lips were pursed in what could be the beginning of a feline smile or mockery.

"Cassie, this is my best friend Kai."

SNAPCRAFT | Ch. 23 - Love Blindness

Summer of 346, A.D.

Kai gulped at the sight of the wall. He had only heard the accounts, and he could now appreciate how truthful they were. Although the name ‘the wall’ hinted at some megalithic construction like that of the famed Great Wall of China, it was an invisible forcefield maintained by Daisy between sectors.

It was a full moon, perhaps the reason for Alex to choose tonight to bring Kai along, and even the pale moonlight was enough to show the s...

Loki watched as each hatchling set itself in place, and captain after captain signaled that their teams had gathered in the slums. They were almost ready to start. Finally, he would usurp the other guilds. They were all so full of it. He was done with how they monopolized all the best resources in the game. It was time to show them that Pegasus could stand shoulder-to-shoulder with them.

All that was left was giving his guild the final order to move. He had gone through a lot to get thi...

“I’ll be happy to answer any questions you have, martyr. By all means,” spoke the Lord of the Woods.

Roth had to tread carefully here. The caterpillar was most likely eavesdropping on this conversation. He couldn’t give any clues of what he wanted to do. He cleared his mind from all anxiety, careful not to let any of his restlessness into his mental waves, and started asking the questions he had carefully prepared.

He started his inquiry with an unrelated question. “Oli ...

As Roth brainstormed locations where he could find twenty unemployed ants to recruit, an ant bumped into him.

“Excuse me,  human. Can you step aside, please?”

He turned around and saw an ant carrying plump larvae filled with fresh silk. She was in a hurry to replenish the glue guns of one of the crews. “Sure, sure. Sorry about that.” He got out of the way and inspected the ant.

Roth couldn't help himself anymore after finding out that ant silk was used in crafting chitin armor. He had to visit the weaver ants. If silk was involved in crafting chitin armor, then that meant that he, as a tailor, could produce similar equipment. The prospect was exciting. At first, he had just assumed that tailors only made robes and gowns, but with each passing day, he saw the many opportunities contained in the path of a tailor.

He was now near the colony's heart, just above th...

“Do you want some more, Kai?”

“No, thanks, Ariel. I’m full.”

After Alex came back from his seclusion, Ariel couldn’t stop smiling. Kai also noticed that she attributed Alex’s return to his efforts. Whenever his plate came close to becoming empty, she came running to pour him more food.

As for Alex, he was having some sort of philosophical discussion with Trudy. Whatever words were louder than the...

Should Flags be More Powerful?

Hey everyone! These polls have been awesome! Thank you for participating!

Here is the next question I'd like to pose to the community. Should flags be buffed?

Take, for example, the flag of the Rat Cave.

Flag of the Rat Cave (Rare)

Item description: The flagpole is made of simple pine, and the flag itself has some wear and tear, but it still clearly depicts the symbol identifying the abode of the ratans in Green Woods.

SNAPCRAFT | Ch. 17 - Cartesian Doubt

Spring of 346, A.D.

Since Kai had surprised Alex and they had started talking again, he resumed participating in the bonfires. His sister had already come to thank Kai for what he had done, leaving him a little embarrassed. He couldn’t say that pleasing Ariel had been the driving force behind his efforts to reach Alex, but it was a plus.

Kai was the firekeeper today. He was the only firekeeper who was unpredictable. He could talk about history one day, and ...

It was Roth’s fourth trash run. The more runs he did, the more trash he could carry and the more experience and free stats he could gain. If this snowball kept rolling and getting bigger like this, he entertained the thought of sending a message to Loki to let him know he was catching up to his level. His face flushed at the thought. Who was he kidding? He’d never do that.

As he arrived at the rim of the landfill, he emptied its contents and enjoyed the sweet melody of notifications...

Spring of 346, A.D.

Unlike everyone else in the sector, Alex loved the outskirts. Kai never understood why he chose to live so far from everyone else or to have such a long commute to the bonfires every day. More than that, he couldn’t wrap his head around why he would go out of his way to be far from his sister. Whatever the reason was, one thing was sure: Alex loved it out here.

Kai had been roaming the outskirts of town every night since his friend start...

The [Creature of the Night] title had come at just the right time. As he walked farther from the colony's heart, the number of ant workers started to dwindle. Whereas before, ants covered every surface of every tunnel, out here, there weren’t enough of them to serve as references to navigate the tunnels blindfolded.

It wouldn’t have been a disaster. He could have removed the blindfold and used his flashlight, but that would have reset the clock and hindered him from unlocking a new ...

First of all, I would like to thank everyone for taking the time to answer to my last two polls. I've already updated memberships around HC:Pacifist lore, and I'm going to start implementing the change to how [Peace Treaty] works.
