The cow and chicken are now fully animated in the game. As you can see the animals hide at night.

• The chickens will be at random places on the farm each day or throughout the game world as you get more.

• The cows will also be throughout the game world, I think.

• I did this because in Stardew Valley and Harvest Moon I never liked the how the animals were set up.... It was a lot of repeating the same thing each day.

• I started coding on the cow and the cow barn. I was able to complete 50% of it so far.

Miner Abigail In Progress

• I am working on the picture for the Abigail vendor. She may have a hard hat and a new outfit. I was thinking of adding coal smudge marks on her. Since this version of her would be working in the mine. I changed her eye color for this one. She may also have some black in her hair from all the coal. We will see.

Harvest Fatties Chicken Update

• Who would of known chickens would be the back bone of game Development?

• 2 chickens are now able to walk around the farm. You can get up to 16 chickens total. 16 of your chickens will be scattered across the game I am thinking... You will still get up to 16 eggs per day. It just reduces lag 😂

• We never got to see Abigail turn into a full fledged wizard in Stardew Valley so I plan on making it happen with this game. She will be running all the shops. I was planning on having different outfits for her depending on what she is selling/buying.

• For now Abigail will be running the farm store where you buy animals. That is why her hair is more messy than Stardew Valley.

Chicken coop is coming along nicely.

• I have all the code set up so the player can have up to 16 chickens and the eggs are collected daily.

I think the foundation of the game is good enough. It is better than I thought it would be but not as good as I wanted it to be for this game. Maybe in the future when my skills improve I can design a few things better. It will still be better than the Harvest Moon Game for N64 I think.

I will be getting some more assets for the game. I may design a few myself later on.

I am currently working on entering different areas of the farm such as the house, the forest and maybe a chicken coop. This layout will help layout the foundation of the rest of the game.

I have been gathering ideas on which direction to take this game. Infinite inventory sounds good with passive income once things are unlocked. One of the things I disliked about Stardew Valley and Harvest Moon was how much work the animals were. I plan on making this process easier and more rewarding than those games. If you wanted to be a chicken farmer for example it wouldnt make as much money as pig 🐷 truffles 😂 What animal can compete with that though? A golden egg?

Harvest Fatty Demo Coming Soon

I will be working on a playable demo next for the game. It will be similar to the video I posted to the other day. No weight gain girls in the game yet. Just the farm life basics. Maybe I can add some trees to chop. That would be a huge accomplishment if I figure that out.

Here is some progress so far. There is also an inventory and seed selection. Building things is still in progress. I do have the drag and drop working though.

I may have it set up so you can upgrade the field if you have enough money or progressed so far in the game. I haven't decided yet.

The assets may change depending on what people think of them.

I was able to work on some actual game stuff today! I was in save system hell for awhile.

I really think I can make a Stardew Valley like game if I wanted to now. For a long time it seemed like something like that was out of reach but now seems very possible.

I think I finally got the save system down how I want it. I know it seemed like it took a long time but it is a very needed foundation to any game that I make. I may play around with it a bit more to see what else can be done.

I am now working on items that have been dragged and drop to save those as well. I was able to overcome previous roadblocks with other things not saving. I could technically make a few smaller games now that will save.

I have continued to work on the save system to improve it because in my opinion it is the most important thing for a game like this. I was able to make it much better. I may upload a short video teaser of some crops or chickens or something. Like I said before nothing is final yet. Just getting the codes working the ways they are supposed to.

I finally got it to save when placing objects. This will allow you to customize your own property, house etc in the game world and it will stay that way when you quit the game and log back in. It was worth the frustration over the past few days.
