I'd been called queer practically ever since I started school, but I didn't really find out what it meant until seventh grade. This was back when gay still meant happy to most people, and queer was an insult.
I was small for a boy my age, both in height and body build, and I had a form of epilepsy, controlled by medication, but I had been known to suddenly stop and stare at something, unresponsive, for as much as a minute or two. I never remembered doing this, which made it...

Brian never wanted to be a girl, but when you have an actress for an older sister, a HUGE resemblance to her, and then throw in an agent who would do pretty much anything to get a contract — it was better to go with the flow, wasn't it?
Or was that just a good excuse?

I know I screamed because Mom jerked the wheel, then jerked it back to avoid crashing into somebody, while shouting, “What!? What!”
I covered my face with my hands and my phone, shouted back,. “I’m sorry! I’m sorry!”
Mom was really angry with me, “Don’t ever do that!” she almost snarled.
I kept saying, “I’m sorry! I’m sorry! I’m sorry!”
“What the shit! Davey!” she was still shouting. People were honking horns at us and proba...

A short drabble about supply and demand...
Marty needed more wishes from his fairy godmother, but he didn't know how to get in touch with her. He had a problem he couldn't seem to solve by himself. There was only so much of him, after all.
And both his boyfriend, Lila, and his girlfriend, Bob, wanted to play with his lovely breasts, at the same time. If he could only get his selfish lovers to share, there would be enough of his generous bosom to go around. Plenty, i...

I pushed a strand of hair out of my face and smiled at Jack, trying to look sleepy and confident.
"Whoa," he said, grinning. "They must have had a box of new attitude in there."
The sales lady giggled. "I was right," she offered. "Target should pay you to wear their clothes."
"You could use a top that's a bit more revealing," Jack suggested, so I glared at him.
"I'm fine," I said. The sparkly top showed plenty of cleavage, leaving no doubt that I was female and a...

The trouble with Todd started when my cousin Jenny Parsons introduced us at a Harbordale WCIL baseball game where I was working as the team mascot, the Harbordale Blue-Greenie. I was supposed to be an otter, though what otter ever had blue and green fur, I don’t know, but the team name was The Blue-Greens after the water in the bay, I suppose.
I was sitting at a table in the stadium employee lounge, getting hydrated before a game when Jenny came in trailing this big, blon...

I rubbed the place where I got the shot until it stopped hurting, then we got out of there with an appointment for the following Thursday to get another shot and a new blood test, plus a visit with a counselor the same day and right in the same building.
Just standing there beside Mom while she made arrangements, I felt a sudden thrill go though me, not quite like anything I’d ever felt before. I made a noise, more of a gurgle than a giggle. Mom looked at me, and I ...

Tay had a girlfriend, the stunning Diana Wells. He was a jock, on the school wrestling team. He loved his life—didn’t he?
Why did what Diana wore have so much interest for him? And why did being in the boys’ locker room after matches make him feel so unsettled?
And why did the attention some of the other guys on the squad paid him cause him to blush and stammer?
He’d taken enough teasing about his name over the years. The bullying had provoked him into be...

Gordon guided me on a path between scrubby bushes to a black pick-up truck parked next to a two-lane road. “You’ll have to share the seat with Albert, he won’t stay in the back,” he said as he opened the door. Then he called the dog. Albert showed up after only being yelled at twice, wiggling all over.
I leaned my sandy butt against the truck, pulling the sweatshirt around me for warmth while watching the man and dog greet each other as if they had each been a...

Having to put my dog down last week has really been messing with me. In the middle of this social isolation, I feel even more isolated. Face it, I feel lonely.
Added to that, my sinuses have chosen to act up in a big way and I've been sapped of energy from dealing with that.
Forgive me if I fall down on keeping up the level of posting I've been doing for the last two months, it may take me a while to get back on an even keel.
Hugs to all and I will get over this and find my ...

Hannah was grouchy when she got up and found me in the bathroom before her. I'd just gone in to pee but discovered that my braid had come loose a bit. Since I intended to leave it in place until Mom and I had shopped for some new haircare thingies, I had partially undone the braid to re-tie it.
The problem seemed to have been the new wider pink ribbon I had used. I hadn't properly threaded it through my braids when I tied it in a bow. I didn't usually with the narrow blue r...

Bonnie said, "I thought you might like to go to the bathroom. You know, before I lock you in the closet." She nodded toward the door with the padlock.
I stared in that direction. "What-what happened to Moose's last girlfriend?" I suddenly asked.
"Oh!" she said. "Layla is now with a rich businessman in Mexico City. I hear he spoils her rotten, not that Moose didn't do that, too."
I shook my head and squirmed in my bonds, whimpering. I didn't know whether I could ...

What did I want?
I looked from Mom to the doctor then back at Mom. Neither was offering much in the way of clues as to what I should say.
"Uh—," I cleared my throat. "Are you saying I can start taking hormones today to—to become Kissy? Or stay David and become a man?"
The doctor nodded. "Or do nothing and let your body work slowly as it has been. Ultimately to have a male puberty, though it will probably be a less complete one than a little intervention coul...

We found the dressing rooms, with an attendant at a little desk outside “You can only take three items inside at a time,” she told us. “And your boyfriend can’t go inside with you.”
“Aww,” said Jack grinning. I just rolled my eyes at him.
He handed me a sparkly top, the stretchy denim pants, and a nude 32DD bra, one with underwire. “Get dressed and come back out so we can see how you look.”
The attendant nodded at the suggestion, too. “...

I woke up naked on the beach with a cold surf playing with my toes. I jerked my feet up out of the icy water. “What—?” I began to say but my throat was clogged with phlegm and maybe sand and I ended up trying to cough it all out. Rolling over to get my hands and knees under me, I pushed off the sand.
A fiery orange sun peeked over the water—morning? I didn’t know but it felt like morning. I noticed right way though, several strange things. A mass of blond hair fell immediately...

No one had actually said what part of my body was going to be ultra-sounded, but I had a guess. Things seemed very awkward.
I tried a kind of a bluff. “Are you sure it doesn’t say Kissy Parker somewhere on that paper?” I asked.
He stared at me for a moment too long.
I stared back, noting that he had, well, beard stubble, as if he hadn’t shaved in two or three days. I wondered absurdly, what would it feel like to kiss someone with that kind of—scruffines...

Mom kissed me good night on the cheek. "Get some sleep, honey," she said. "We're going shopping in the morning to get you more of your own stuff." To avoid giggling in embarrassment, I gave her a swift peck on the cheek too. I hadn't kissed Mom goodnight in years.
She left, and I turned around to look at my room. It didn't look that much like a girl's room, at least not yet, but the decorations that identified it as a boy's room were gone. The tallboy chest of drawers in the corner had ...

We approached the front door of the cabin, Bonnie with her hand in the middle of my back. "Try to whimper a little," she advised.
"You're kidding, aren't you?" I asked, knowing that tears were already running down my face from my eyes and into my nose. It had begun to itch, a miserable feeling. I couldn't reach anything because Bonnie's velcro tape restrained my hands behind my back, each wrist fastened to the opposite arm above the elbow. "I don't have to try," I complaine...

When the package from his aunt arrived two days after his birthday, Niall assumed that she had remembered and that his present had just gotten lost in shipping. The letter that accompanied the small box confused him.
"Dear Niall," it read. "Here's hoping that enough of the family heritage lives in you for this to be useful. Love, your Aunt Lea."
Family heritage? He had no idea what that meant. As far as he knew the only thing he...

After the woman’s comments on what she supposed our relations were, Jack waggled his eyebrows at me, but I chose to ignore him. I had two pair of pants in my cart, and that would do, I headed over to another rack to pick out some tops.
I tried to choose fairly plain ones in quiet colors, but Jack immediately challenged me. “Look,” he said, “if you end up changing back, what tops you pick now don’t matter, you’ve got a closetful of your old clothes.”
“U...

I should have known Mom would cheat. We didn't go through the doors right away. Instead, she pulled me into an out of the way corner and took out her own makeup repair kit.
"Stand still," she ordered me when I tried to get away. She kept it to a minimum, a bit of eyebrow pencil, and then she handed me a brand new mascara wand she'd apparently had in her purse.
"It's green," I said.
"I know, I bought it by mistake."
"Green mascara…." I did not want to say...
