Peggy and Polly: #1 sketch/pencils

People who follow my twitter might remember my Peggy and Polly sketches and doodles. I've kinda wanted to make comics about them for awhile - less try-hard comics that are more doodly. And yesterday I said "fuck it" and sat down to just start it.

Minor Update, Plans to Retag All Old Posts

Hi! This is just a minor update about what I've been up to. I'm on my 4th manga rewrite already - I'm gonna be rewriting one of the first manga in the publisher's new Girl's Love imprint, which is pretty neat. But again, its work that is hard to share. 

I've just finished a script rewrite for my own Miracle Paladin Remix comic for Slipshine (yes I renamed it), and will be finally sitting down to pencil those pages and sharing them here.

Archiving some Home-Bound/Porrima doodle comics

So, I realized that due to my Twitter being setup to delete any tweet older than 3 months old, a LOT of my doodles and sketches just disapear. While I'm okay reposting them later, they don't really have a place in my portfiolio, and that seems like such a bummer for people who liked those comics/doodles and wanna see them again.

Just sayin, I got a bunch of new work, some of it coloring other people's work. And some of it is me rewriting/localizing English translations of manga! It's very hard to share that kind of work, so I've just been silently working. Porrima Sample Pg 1 - Ink and Color Edit

I've been working on the rest of the "Porrima and the Loom on the Horizon" sample pages to make them look like how I'm inking/coloring Starry Knight, which meant I had to go back and tweak page 1 to match.

On the right is how it looks after I've gone back and touched up the inking, adjusted the colors, and then softened everything a bit. I think I've found my groove with this style.

Short CSP Tutorial video #1

Something a little different! Iron Circus has asked me to make some short Clip Studio Paint video tutorials for Youtube Shorts and Tiktok, and I just finished the first one. I think limiting me to 30 seconds is a bit of a hurdle, as I had to cut and edit this a LOT, but all things considered I think it turned out okay!

Change to the reward tiers and how pledges work

Hi everyone! I've decided, inspired by others, to change how my Patreon works. I have been unable to do special rewards for a very long time, or make extra content, and have decided to make my future content available to ALL patrons no matter the donation amount.

Porrima: Sample Page 2 inks (Home-bound)

I am currently working on sample pages for my Porrima and the Loom on the Horizon pitch/proposal rewrite after my agent's notes, and here's page 2 of that!

Home-Bound: renaming and logo/follow-up book ideas

After talking with agent about my proposal, we discussed name changes, and this resulted in my brainstorming a "Porrima and..." naming scheme and every book (assuming there are multiple) would get a sewing-pun-ish name. The first book would be "... and the Loom on the Horizon," where "the Loom" is an actual plot element.

ANYWAY, this was me brainstorming logo ideas. And yes I misspelled travelling, fight me

As previously, no hard feelings if pledges are cancelled. Believe me, I'm also annoyed I didn't get much work done on my comics. I'm not happy with how this month has gone, the work related hiccups, and some other stuff. I am quite grumpy and tired and really, really hope I can be a selfish indulgent little dumbass for April and work on my own projects.

I got commissioned to do some designs to for an interesting project a friend is making - it involves D&D and molds! It's gonna be neat. They're kicking these designs over to a 3D artist to recreate.

Cover colors with 8 different sky variants... I'm die...

More work on that coloring job I was hired to do! I'm sharing these here because they asked me to add an "impressive" pink and orange sky, and to include multiple variants on separate layers for them to see.

What to expect this month!

I can actually PLAN AHEAD now that I've clawed my way out from under Extreme Deadline Mountain, and am taking the opportunity to for once give y'all a heads up about what to expect this month.

So, as I've mentioned before, Love Me Nice is going to come back this year after I finish some rewrites. And I wanna talk about those rewrites, and why they're happening - not for any big reason, just to get used to talking again. LMN SHORT: Parent Yourself pg 1 (rough pencils)

since Spike got excited and posted my last gif as a promo image, I'm gonna instead share this progress gif of the project so far. This is actually going to have effects applied to make it look like an old busted VHS, so this may be the cleanest it looks for awhile unless latter we choose to use it for promo too.

Another month with scant updates BUT....

... I got that coloring job I was testing for, and I'm so excited and relieved. That means, among other things, that  I don't have to stump for more work and can focus on the comic projects I already have.

So Im gonna be very busy, but weirdly I'm gonna have more time for personal projects like Starry Knight and even Love Me Nice soon.
