My latest episode is on the anthropology of extreme, painful rituals. Why do humans do them? The episode was inspired by an interview I conducted with an expert on extreme rituals, Dr. Dimitris Xygalatas.
I was quite nervous making this video because of its sensitivity. I didn't want to come across as lurid or sensationalist, but I also didn't want to shy away from the extreme aspects of these rituals. Let me know how you think I balanced that, I'm curious to know.
