Every now and then I get a couple who approaches me for a shoot. Ariel had just done a magazine shoot in a skin-tight leather suit using a motorcycle as a prop and was anxious to shoot again with her boyfriend. This was his introduction to the world of modeling and he couldn't have asked for a better instructor than his girlfriend.

It often is difficult to set up shoots overseas because it is not always easy to find models ahead of time. Much of my business comes through word-of-mouth and Instagram, and neither are very useful for travel notices. I was fortunate to find Gracja, and she was wonderful to work with. This is where word-of-mouth becomes important; it turns out that her roommate is a full-time model. Now I have two women I can work with next time I am in Warsaw.

I have a request for more of Renee, so here she is! Renee was a new to modeling and jumped right into to shooting nude. She was perfectly comfortable and didn't hesitate with her posing. Here I primarily used the window as a key light but used a single strobe firing into a white umbrella.

I always show up to a shoot with at least three speedlights but in most cases I just use one. There is a lot you can do with just a single light and these photos are examples.

This was one of the few days during my visit that the sky was visible, it was only partly cloudy for a change. Of course, that only lasted for a few hours in the morning and then the heavy cloud cover returned. I wanted to use the light from the window since it was so nice and soft, but wanted to avoid any heavy shadowing. Brittany O'Bryon is a local college student who wanted to try a bit of modeling before she graduated. She was fearless and was willing to try anything. She also had a lot of ideas that she brought to the shoot and we had a great time doing a lot of different looks. It's hard to go wrong, though, with the classic American look of a white shirt with a denim miniskirt!

I've had to cancel a number of shoots because of COVID-19, but it looks like there is hope on the horizon that we will be able to slowly and carefully get back to work, just as the weather is getting comfortable. Alexis is a fan favorite around here. I get requests for many of the women with whom I've worked, but Alexis gets the greatest number of requests. She and I have worked together for a number of years and I always look forward to what comes next. If anyone has a boat, or knows where in the DC area we can rent one for a reasonable price, let me know. That is one shoot we have not crossed off her bucket list.

I worked with Renee in Pennsylvania. Our first shoot got cancelled because she was feeling ill en route to the shoot, but she quickly rescheduled and we spent several hours together. I originally planned to post this on Saturday but I received a request for this from a patron who saw her photo on my Instagram feed so I switched it with the post I originally planned for today.

Alexis and I have been shooting together for a number of years. We've done all sorts of genres and have shot in a wide range of places, from fields to airport runways. I've shot with her more than I have anyone else and we continue to work down her shoot bucket list. Now, if only we could find a boat that we can use, we would be able to cross off the final item on her list.

I hope your time at home is going ravishing. I'm trying to spread out the work I have to do around the house because it looks like I'll be at home for another month before I have to go into work...maybe. Here are more from my set in Poland with the wonderful Gracja. I was fortunate enough to shoot with her before concerns about COVID-19 closed off Europe. I ended up having to cut my trip short and cancel some shoots, but I managed to get back to the US safely and I avoided the madness that started the next day with Americans rushing back home.
