Mahjestick's Robe

Mahjestick was in town for just a short while on other business so she contacted me for a shoot during her down time.  She had us on live video through the beginning of the shoot, while she was in lingerie, but said good-bye to her followers when we went to something a little more bare.  I used a single strobe through most of this shoot since we had great natural light coming through the window.

Bella in the House

Patreon is acting a little whacky today.  These were shot in portrait mode but unlike previously, the draft photos are cropped at both ends so only the center shows up.  I'll post this to see if it posts correctly.  If not I'll take this post down and try another time.

Anyway, here is Bella Burke again in black and white and in color.  

Susie's Pleasure

Susie Yeong wasn't sure what to expect when she showed up.  She had never posed before, much less posing in lingerie and nude.  It didn't take long, though, for her to relax and get into the shoot.  

Classic Anna

Anna Jialing enjoying a bed.  I was trying out a bank of continuous LED lights.  I did not find them sufficient for the way I shoot.  The good is that they do produce a nice, soft light and you can see what you are getting since they are continuous.  The bad is that they don't produce enough light to replace a strobe unless you boost your ISO up into very high ranges.  I expect LED technology to continue to improve and they may eventually produce more light, but I'll ...

Fil Around the Room

Fil was new to modeling when we worked together but she had aspirations of posing for Playboy Magazine.  I believe this was her first nude shoot and one of, if not her first, real photo session.  Naturally, she was very nervous.  She came with a friend who assisted me as I shot, holding reflectors as necessary.  We also started with a long lingerie session before Fil started taking everything off.  That helped calm Fil down and she was very comfortable by the time she...

Willa on a Tree

The sun was not very cooperative when Willa Prescott and I shot together.  It was bright and harsh, giving us very strong shadows.  Fortunately, I had a one-stop diffuser with me along with a large light stand.  I set up the diffuser to the right, anchored with a couple of sand bags, and I was able to shoot Willa without having to worry about splotchy shadows.

Gurularoo in Charge

Cold weather didn't stop Gurularoo from shooting in the nude.  It was a very brisk day when we shot, which worked to our advantage as we were in a park in the DC area.  Most people stayed indoors rather than venturing into the popular woods.  Still, the cold didn't stop everyone from coming out.  Through much of our shoot, we were visible from the road that ran around the park since the trees had no leaves on them.  The number of cars driving by eventually drove us to...

Ravishing Raven

It's funny how you may be thousands of miles away from home, one of the less populated states, and you randomly run into someone from the same area with similar tastes and a very similar background.  RavishRaven was one of those people for me.  We clicked immediately, which made the shoot easy and fun.

I don't always shoot natural light with no other lighting source, but when I do...  Am Montoya was perfect for the look I wanted.  Her skin tone perfectly captured the feeling of warmth from the sun.  I normally would use a single light or reflector as fill, particularly when shooting in open sunlight, but we did not need it here.  It was late enough in the day that we were able to get by without anything else.  After shooting on the balcony for a while, we moved insi...

Minnie in Lingerie

Minnie was interested in doing a few cosplay-like shots before we moved into boudoir.  She had this Chinese dress, in particular, that she wanted to use.  I met her in Seattle, which I am not very familiar with, so she helpfully suggested a few restaurants in the area where I could find something to eat after the shoot.

Jenna Is a Badass

I found this location and loved that someone spray painted a tribute to Stevie Ray Vaughn, so I wanted to do more of a rough, biker chick type of look.  Jenna Citrus stepped up to the plate and came up with this wardrobe.  I opted to play around with a number of different looks during post-processing.

Traceyourworld in the Window

I've traveled up to the Toronto area many times and show with a number of women there, but I didn't meet Traceyourworld until I traveled to Mississauga, just to the west of Toronto.  That was a good day for me.  Traceyourworld came ready with a number of great outfits.  She also continued with the great tradition of denim and brought these awesome jean shorts.

Leonor in Lingerie

Dakota Snow Framed

I enjoyed my shoots in this old, abandoned house.  Dakota Snow introduced it to me for this shoot, and I used it for several shoots since then.  Unfortunately, it was torn down recently, so I'm on the hunt again for an abandoned building in the area.  Unfortunately most of the ones I've found are several hours drive away.

Ariel is a dancer and throughout the shoot she brought her dance skills into practice as she moved her body.  The next time we work together, I plan to do a dance-themed shoot.  She is British and finishing up her senior year in college, so hopefully she will have more time to visit the US after she graduates.

Window to Kalopsia

Kalopsia loved that this window had a good-sized window sill and wanted to make use of it.  I was focused on balancing the natural light and my lights while also staying cognizant of reflections.  I used a single light for most of these shots, mainly to lighten shadows.  

Inna's Boudoir

When InnaBG contacted me to set up a shoot, we struggled to find a time that would work.  She would only be in town for a few days and had limited availability.  Therefore, we agreed to shoot at 4:00 a.m. so that I could get her set in before I had to leave for work.  Fortunately, Inna was able to rearrange her schedule slightly and we were able to shoot on Saturday morning so I was free from having to worry about heading to work afterwards.  We also were able to shoot a l...

Denisa in the Wilderness

Christmas is over and now it is time to think what themes and shoots I should do in the new year.  I would love to do another snow-themed shoot, but that requires snow, a model who is willing to shoot in the snow with or without clothing, and excellent timing to get the model over when it looks like we'll have enough snow to shoot.  I've only been able to pull it off once and I loved how it turned out.  I'll post a few of those soon.

Kim Outdoors

I hope everyone had a great Christmas!  Here is an example of the utility of using a light even when you have good natural light.  I had a single speedlight firing into a shoot-through umbrella positioned off to the right.  The light helped separate Kim Louise from the background and added some light shadows to her body, providing more definition.

Rebecca Lounges

I don't normally shoot with studio strobes.  My normal lighting setup includes a number of speedlights, which I prefer over studio strobes primarily for their portability.  I don't have to have a separate bag to check on the plane with just lighting gear.  That gets expensive and impractical for a lot of the travel I do.  Speedlights are easy, I throw them in my camera bag or backpack and put my lightstands and umbrellas in my check-in bag with my clothes.  I have a n...
