We're making good progress on libsurvive, and as it turns out it seems I forgot to do patreon updates for the last two videos, so I will be posting them but making them free! In exchange, I'll be charging for this one. Hope you guys find that fair.
Anyway, time to drum up support, time to get people interested and poking around. LibSurvive is around the corner :)

I made my own computer. First time in a long time I've owned anything more than a laptop. GTX 970, Intel Core i5 6600K... I wish I knew Ryzen was about to come out when I put it all together. I will have youtube links updated and hopefully closed captions in tomorrow sometime.
Hope you guys enjoy it (and this colorchord teaser) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EkZlxNQg4ag

I finally got Mark and Dylan the other two people who helped bring 2,000 wifi-enable swadges to MAGFest. An ESP8266 in each one. After a hastily put together livestream, I was able to go back and edit the footage down into something more useful. Check out this video as well as us having fun frolicking in a field of swadges.

There were two livestreams that happened recently in which the community, (with a lot of help from a vive developer) were able to talk to the HTC Vive watchman controller! It was an exciting time and could mean a lot for the future of open soruce vive games -- if Valve doesn't brick it too quickly :-p.
If you haven't already, check out the livestreams!
As always, patrons get a first look at it before it goes public! Don't be sharing the link.

Please do not share the link until after the HaD article goes live.
After some fun with an ESP8266 USB bootloader (which is totally not complete)... I had part of a non-sdk of sorts. Then, Hackaday announced the 1kB challenge. This got me cookin! I decided to really strip things down and see what the ESP could do without the requirement of Wifi. The answer is nothing short of amazing.

Long ago I wanted to make a clear acrylic keytar. So I worked on it and worked on it, but eventually lost interest. I learned a lot along the way, so I figured for 20k subs, I should post what of it I have.
I do have a bit of a backlog of videos. A bunch waiting because of IAAPA this month, but I'm back!
FREE VIDEO: I will be charging for the "things I make" videos.

I'm trying to do 3D location triangulation with some ESP8266's. Spoiler: I couldn't get it working. But, I learned a lot along the way! Join me to see some of the things I've found and enjoy the github repo.
Thanks, everyone for supporting my videos!!! I really need to get back to some ColorChord.
(This video will go public tomorrow around 2PM EST if all goes well)

Colorchording a multi-track acapella performance - with Lora Harrison. Some of you guys may have seen the multi-track recordings online of someone singing with themselves, track over track over track. Well, I decided to give that a whirl with a twist in it. ColorChord! Link to the original video is in this video, but a direct link to the real acapella video is here: https://www.youtube.c...

Because this is not up to my normal standards I am definitely not charging for it. I will be making a video about ColorChord soon!

This is a free post to my patrons. There will be an in-depth "all about colorchord" video coming soon, too. But for now, enjoy! Sadly you guys don't get much of a jump on this one as I'll be posting it tomorrow morning.
If you're curious I have an IEEE article that just came out: http://spectrum.ieee.org/geek-life/hands-on/how-to-turn-music-into...

I've finally done it. I've updated my videos on glass circuit boards after a couple years! Also, you patreon subscribers get this like 4 days early! I won't be releasing this video until Sunday.
Anyway, ever wonder how to make glass printed circuit boards? What are some of the projects I do with this sort of stuff? How I put the components on the slides? it's pretty much all in one place with this three-part series.
P.S. Please tell me abo...

I recently got a roll of ESP8285's directly from Espressif, and I HAD to test one out. So, at Creation, I did a range test. And, sure enough, even on an awful one-layer design the module performed expertly! (Free video! Will be releasing this one to youtube later today)

A lot of people have asked how far the more modern modules can communicate and how far they can talk to each other. I decided to actually do a test to find out! The answer absolutely floored me! I had a lot of fun doing these tests. For a dinky little $3 module that was designed to say if your toast was done from the other room, the ESPs continue to absolutely amaze!
I hope you guys like this video. This is one that will be billed for supporters. I...

So, I must continue in my quest for new and more useless technologies. This time a non-contact temperature sensor for your stove that projects the temperature ONTO the stove! This uses an ATTiny44 some IO expanders and a non-contact temperature sensor. Hope you guys enjoy it! Tell me more about what you're looking for!P.S. The link is unlisted, so please don't share it too far, it's just for you guys, my patrons! I'll be posting it Monday.

Free post! Sorry for the April Fools day confusion. The ESP really does talk Ethernet. No, the ESP does NOT have Ethernet Hardware.
Anyway, in this video, I'm going to show you how to broadcast AM Radio from Ethernet, alone! Hope you enjoy!
Like always, you guys get the videos first!

Okay, not really, but, it does at least talk Ethernet. This video is going to go live tomorrow morning at 10:00 AM EST, so don't distribute the link! This link is just for you patreon followers! It's part of a dual release with Hackaday. It'll go live, along with the github page when the hackaday article goes live hopefully at 10:00 AM EST!

Well, here's my first video on patreon. I'm sending it to you guys a couple hours before I publish to web. I think I'd like to do that in the future, i.e. all patrons get early access! If you guys see any major flaws or problems you can give me a heads up and I can fix them if need be.
Additionally, I'm probably only going to be "charging" for my videos that are actual explanations, etc. and not some stupid little 30 second video.
I hope that wo...
