Daily Brief - Wednesday, 17th June

CDPR are coming out swinging with this one. While it's not going to be *gigantic* to give away Witcher to people who own it, if they combine this with a significant summer sale and maybe a feature drop for Galaxy before Cyberpunk, they might grab that extra few % sales on GOG - and that'll be huge for the bottom line. It's well-seen they're doing it by giving away their own game and getting people to their platform with features. Good stuff!

[EARLY, AUDIO] The Machinery of Death - Who Broke It And When

With the aid of a crafty r/warcraftlore post and some Ardenweald quests, we've been able to figure out when the machinery of death broke, how it broke and even who broke it - Genn Greymane did! At least, we're pretty sure. Why did he break it, and what can we figure from this new info? Lots to get into, so enjoy!

So, who's excited for Squadrons? A quality VR + HOTAS supported space dogfighter is basically the kind of thing you'd dream about as a kid, and now we havea quality studio making a Star Wars one. Can't wait!

Batman and Lord of the Rings could find themselves in better (or maybe worse) hands soon, Persona 4 Golden's release marks a bright future for Atlus' PC fans and things are going well enough across the industry. A lot of news still on its way, though!

Warcraft Weekly - A Bit About Alpha

This week, Gerard talks briefly about how the alpha's been progressing from a lore perspective. A bit lighter than usual, as we gear up for a real in-depth look at Warcraft lore and its evolution over time - the next few weeklies should be super interesting!

As always, thanks for your support, and we'll see you next week for more!

Sony's PS5 event was pretty insane, so many beautiful games. Just a shame that the console and Shadowlands are gonna drop around the same time!

Daily Brief - Thursday, 11th June

Today's the day - with the PS5 reveal, we'll get to see a huge swathe of next-gen games. It'll be interesting to see how many come to PC!

I'm sure we'll have a super-packed brief tomorrow, that's for sure.

I genuinely can't believe we're going to see Persona games on PC. The slow adoption of the PC market by Japanese developers really feels like its hitting its zenith with this one.

What a time to be alive. I guess we just have to wait and see the port has been given the love it deserves.

[EARLY, AD-FREE] Unexplored Azeroth

Daily Brief - Tuesday, 9th June

We finally get to see the next-gen of games in a few days. The news we usually expect at this time of year should start exploding on us soon!  Maybe we should make a not-E3 bingo card for these events.

[EARLY, AUDIO] Unexplored Azeroth - Titan Facilities, Ogres & More!

In this video, we take a wide and deep look at Azeroth: Where have we not been... and where do we think we've been but haven't properly explored?

As it turns out, there's plenty left for us to see! Titan facilities, known-but-unexplored islands, new cultures and maybe even an entirely new continent.

Hey everyone! Valorant leaving beta certainly makes me want to play it - have any of you tried? If not for Vanguard's bad reputation I'd be a lot more open to it.

Anyway, thanks for your support and we'll see you tomorrow for more!

Hey everyone! It's Saturday, so it's time for a recollection of this week's news - and one of AJ's ever-entertaining features.

After this week's edition, I find myself wanting to play some of the worst games in history, almost in anticipation for the hopefully fantastic games we'll be seeing next week!

Thanks for your support, we hope you enjoy!

Warcraft Weekly - Dramatis Mortis: Kael'thas

We'll see a ton of characters again in the Shadowlands, the object of our attention this week is one stubborn, noble man - Kael'thas Sunstrider himself, returning to (hopefully!) see his story done justice.

Hope you enjoy this week's frenetic writings on possibly the most smug elf in Warcraft - and that's saying something!

(USA ONLY) Patreon July 1st Sales Tax Compliance & Us

Hey everyone!

Okay, so a Patreon update. The good news is that this only applies to people in certain US states, and of those states, it’s to varying degrees. What’s even better is the lengths Patreon themselves have went to in helping creators deal with this change, and minimise any potential tax burden.

So, what’s happened? A bunch of US states have decided that various Patron things fall under sales tax. This kicks in on July 1st 2020. Patreon is handling compliance on it...

News Daily Brief - Friday, 29th May

Happy Friday everyone! We're almost in June, which means the E3 hype train is leaving the station - even without an E3, June looks packed.

Nothing too spicy today, although the prospect of a new console not meaning old games get relegated to storage is nice to think about - although I definitely think my PS4 library will remain on hold until the PS5 launches.

Thanks for your support folks, see you tomorrow.

Afternoon everyone! News, news, and more news. The xCloud preview is shaping up to be a great streaming platform even in its beta, Silent Hill might be on the move and at long last, the venerated Destroy All Humans! has a demo available for the remake. That game was pure stupid fun, and I hope the remake does well - I might even play that demo this evening!

Thanks for your ongoing patronage, see you tomorrow!
