Swimsuit contest begins!

Fluffy summer time!

I tried out a new way of sketching. Instead of drawing on top with new layers I just used my usual painting brush and did everything on the same one. It's really comfy so I think I'll stick to this. I did take a wrong decision tho, I should have used some color instead of black, that way I could have dropped some colors then mix it all together and keep sculpting from there— black doesn't mix that well lol.

Next month event

Something that I don't like is monotony, it dulls my (artistic) soul. So we'll try a new although not so original (lol) spin on the monthly poll for August.

I'm thinking of a beauty pageant with tournament style brackets. I'll take the candidates from members with voting power and they will also decide the outcomes through voting of course.

There will be different style drawings for the three winners, the most juicy one for the first place.

Wip

Comparing this stage to the initial sketch is fun. Color makes it easier to visualize the size and volume of things in space so this is the part where I make most of the adjustments — from here on there's usually not much difference from the final thing.

The biggest changes were the size and place of the tail and cake, so it seems my anatomy is pretty spot on 👍.

I took a break yesterday — gasp. I had an insomnia night, a sore shoulder from lifting and a stiff back from too long hours sitting and drawing. Body very wore down but the soul missed this lol.

Anyway, I'll start painting that commission. There will be a sweet nude variant so wait for it!

That scene from Extella where she roleplays a gyaru will be forever burned into my mind. Her voice acting melts me. I'm definitely going to draw a doujin about that someday.

We've been drawing Koyanskaya near the end of June as she was born with the Tunguska Event on the 30th, so it's her birthday.

And we are done. This piece makes me very happy: my coloring, light and background skills have clearly improved. I decided to skip the shoes because apparently I draw feet good now and they look cute — not sure how to feel about that lol.

I think I'll draw her LB4 outfit next — It's been almost half a year since the last time I did draw Koyanskaya and I'm having fun tbh. We most likely going back to Tamamo and Fate/Extra after the 30th tho.

I had a bigger illustration in mind but not sure I would be able to make it so I'll settle down for the qipao dress.

Took a day longer than expected because I was waaaay too tired and had to sleep a lot. That said, I'm very happy with the outcome!

I'll draw last comm now and then I'm free to draw whatever for me and Patreon which is a very motivating thought.
