this scene... got a LOT of rewrites, including a very impromptu one. it is now really short. it may end up being changed by the end of idletry's production.

i finally finished editing act 1, and my beta reader said it seems good with the faster pacing, so it's been reduced from 18 scenes to 14.
that means that i can finally start working on the beginning of the next scene knowing how it's going to begin. i still want to work on the other scene that's being inserted in between two earlier scenes, though.
all that to say, the jessies of the day may end up having sudden changes as i switch between working on two different scenes until i've fin...

my mother went on a month-long vacation and i've been expected to take care of her dogs... so i'm basically interrupted from working every few hours, for an hour or two. it's exhausting. and it is affecting my ability to make idletry. anyway, have some jessies i HAVE been able to draw.

hi everyone. i noticed a lot of my patrons don't actually use tumblr -- but that's where i post my art publicly. so i rounded up all of the sketch strips i've drawn for idletry. they are just kind of ordered in a way that allows them to build on each other, but they aren't perfectly chronological either canonically or when i made them.

this is how i imagine the colors working in Idletry. it's a rough animation, but i don't have the energy or want to clean it up... i in fact regret making it because my hand has started to hurt for the first time in months!!!

hi everyone. i finished another scene. i think the first draft of the script was posted here as well because it won the vote... its length is better than the previous scenes at 15 pages. in all likelihood the entire beginning sequence will be removed, which will bring it closer to 10.
evelyn and adam were challenging to draw in this scene because as older people, their wrinkles tend to make them look way angrier than they are, since those wrinkles are usually drawn on younger characters...

Jessie's design breakdown
Jessie was designed almost 2 years ago. Since then, her general... gist has remained the same, but her design has gone through a lot of refinement. I failed at drawing her at the weight i wanted to for a long time, but I think this ref is much closer to what I want. I added her old ref for comparison at the end of this post.
When I first drew her, I had literally just gotten the idea, so something like "someone with perfect God Vision wouldn't need to wear glasses" hadn't yet entered into ...
Catharsis script: the whole plate
Hi everyone. I've thought about it, and since I don't think I will ever finish Catharsis, it seemed like it would at least be fine to upload the entire script so that people knew how the story went. as you can see, this scene is... a staggering. 30 pages long. not great!!!!!!! i will need to see what i can do for it. it is one of the most memorable scenes in the comic (to readers) and most people know jessie as the character who fucked your mom. so it felt like i couldn't just remove it wholesale.
it's worth noting that mark (renamed to dick in this scene; i have to find a spot to drop their name into the dialogue) is just a random person. they aren't like, jessie's therapist or ps...
