The Chimpanzee Civil War

Next Friday's video is about an unusual event in the 1970s. Jane Goodall observed a tribe of chimpanzees when during her research the tribe disintegrated and eventually fell into full-on civil war.

The most senior Nazi to vanish after WW2

We all know the stories of Nazis that fled to Argentina, or were recruited by the United States. But do you know the curious tale of the most senior Nazi official to vanish after WW2, considered to be dead until the 1960s when KGB defectors came with testimonies?

Interesting shorter videos

I got such a positive response to my video about the Prussian Scheme that I decided to start creating shorter videos about interesting people/places/events in history.

Since I started HoH I have kept a document where I jotted down ideas and articles. It is a lot of fun to work on this and I will probably be able to upload twice (!) a week at least for the coming couple of months.

Don't worry: the history of Prussia is nearly wrapped up. I want to take my time with the last couple ...

Video next Friday

Next Friday we will look at a curious episode of constitutional history of the United States. Did you know there might have been a scheme to put a Prussian King on the throne? It would turn the United States into a monarchy!

Coming Friday but already online for Patrons

Dear Patrons,

This Friday we will have a look at the childhood of one of the greatest monarchs in European history: Frederick the Great. It was a terrible childhood as he was tormented by his father, the Soldier King. It is an interesting aspect of his life that is lesser known than his great feats during his adult life.

Prussia's Soldier King

If you are bored this Sunday - check out next Friday's video! It's about Frederick William I, Prussia's Soldier King.

This is the era where Prussia's notorious militarism truly took off.

Video tomorrow

Hi Patrons!

Thank you very much with sticking with me even though I had to take a small hiatus because of work. I am planning on uploading every Friday as long as time allows it again!

I'm really happy to be working on House of History again. It is my passion-project after all. I cannot express my gratitude to you guys that decide my work is worth supporting financially. Thanks again!

An update

Dear Patrons,

You have probably noticed I have not uploaded a video in over a month now. I have received some private messages as well, and I owe all of you an explanation. Now that all of us are Corona-quarantined there is no better time to do so.

HoH has been a passion project for over 1.5 years, with weekly uploads, sometimes 2. It has taken up a great deal of my time, and I've enjoyed every second of it. I've met great people, received an overwhelming amount of enthusiasm and ...

Thirty Years' War in Brandenburg-Prussia

The video for next Friday covers the territories of Brandenburg-Prussia and the incredible hardships Brandenburg endured during the Thirty Years' War.

The Early Hohenzollerns

For those that cannot wait until next Friday: this video covers the early history of House Hohenzollern. It covers how they managed to acquire Brandenburg, and eventually how Brandenburg-Prussia came to be.

It is definitely one of my more in-depth and interesting videos, in my humble opinion. I tried to condense over 300 years of dynastic history into one video. To be honest, I think it came out alright.

Hope you enjoy!

A sneak-peak for December & January!

This video will be released on December 10th and mark the beginning of my complete history of Prussia documentary series.

For those that have seen my End of Empire: Fall of the Qing Dynasty (over 2.5 hours of footage), the history of Prussia will at least be double that!

I will take you on a journey from the 13th century, when the Teutonic knights colonized the region that would, centuries later, become known as the Duchy of Prussia, all the way to 1947, when the Allied powers abo...

10.000 subscriber Q&A

Dear patrons,

The channel hit 10.000 subscribers last night! As a celebratory video, I thought a Q&A would be fitting.

Because you, the patrons, are the backbone of my channel, obviously your questions will have priority in the upcoming video. Is there anything you'd like to know? About me, or in general about YT/history? Feel free to leave a comment and I'll answer it in the upcoming Q&A video!

An incredibly heartfelt thank you to each and everyone of you. Whe...
