So starting next year, there will no longer be a $2 option. You can still give $2, just with the new structure of the fees, giving $2 costs patrons about $2.50 or so and might as well go to $5 and pay less fees.
You can still pledge $2 if you want, just the variant level will only be given to people at $5 plus.
If you decide to leave, I understand. Thanks for being a patron!

So there seems to be a mass exodus of Patrons removing pledges from creators (not me in particular) and I just wanted to give my take on the matter.
Patreon is not charging new fees. What they are doing is passing the processing fees of 35 cents plus 3% to the patrons, not the creators. Previously, I lost nearly 4% in funds just on processing fees. Now I get most of that money.
Previously, your $1 pledge would only give the creator $0.65. Now they get a full dollar just for a few cents m...

Should I Start a Discord Server?
It would be a place to share content outside of Patreon (easier for me), maybe have Q&A, etc.
Fears? Drama, especially political. If I did this, there'd be rules for discussion, but I'd like it to just be a place to discuss art, I can ask for feedback, etc. I would schedule times I'd be on and be there during streams.
