HERE'S PART 2 OF THIS ARTICLE SERIES
For many, virtual tabletop gaming sites such as Roll20, or applications like The Foundry VTT are arcane magic of the darkest kind, but I have had great experiences in virtual gaming, and right now, for many in the world thanks to the global pandemic, it's the only way to go. It took me sometime to wo...

I get this question a lot. How do you scare your players? My players seem immune to scary stuff! A lot of Handlers are left feeling that their games fall flat because the big reveal of the monster or terrifying moment is most often met with “oh,” or, “see, it was X, I told ya!” This is a very disheartening feeling for a Handler, but the good news is, there’s an easy fix. With just a few little shifts in style, and thinking, you too can scare the shit out o...

Hey guys! I'm currently working on THOSE WHO COME AFTER (check out some new art, above!) Also, check out the work-in-progress that is THE HOLLOW MAN, one of the scenarios in the book. This flow-chart is how I build all my scenarios; connecting, changing, and expanding webs of clues and relationships. This one isn't finished, yet, but it's enough for me to test-run the scenario (which I'll be doing shortly).
Please feel free to drop in here and ask any questions you might ...

Now that the monster of IMPOSSIBLE LANDSCAPES is no longer squatting on my chest, I'm off to the races on THOSE WHO COME AFTER; my book on the Great Race of Yith. Here's an image of the height of the Pnakotic civilization in Australia on Prehistoric Earth.

Here's the last 32 pages of the monster, which will be going to press shortly. Please send in any errors you spot to acell@me.com before January 13. Thanks again for all the help. What a monstrous undertaking it was (in more ways than one) — and I couldn't have done it without you!
(For some reason Patreon won't allow me to upload it; so here's a download link.)

Here's a small treat to put under your Tree (or Dark Young) this year. Thanks for all the support guys, it means a lot. Not only do I get to connect with you directly, you help make my work infinitely better with your feedback and awesome insights. I've always said what sets Delta Green apart from the rest of the gaming world is that it attracts a particular type of fan... one that's actually here to create creepy games, have fun, and make sure everyone else is having fun too. It's a great co...

We're through layout and on final corrections and index for Delta Green: Impossible Landscapes, the single most difficult product I have ever created. I've reached more, created more, written more and struggled more with this book than anything else I've ever worked on, and not by a small degree. I've run it just shy of ten times, and I'm currently reading through it page-by-page for what has to be the hundredth time, all the while adding little flourishes and perfections on the page...

I get asked about this a lot. It’s hard to deny people are drawn to the particular air of despair we hit in Delta Green (I mean, it is mentioned) however, I often get asked: just what makes such despair feel right? What makes a Delta Green game work?
The answer is a bit complicated. For me and for the other guys in the Delta Green writing group, it’s pretty ingrained. We just hit that note and it works, and we’ve done it forever and since the beginning, so it’s not real...

I followed her and I shouldn’t have. I know it now. Don’t you think I know? I saw it all. I saw it.
When I got back from Ecuador, after the departmental (ha) review, the demerol, the hospital, the slippers, and all the things between — which tumbled through reality like clothes in the dryer — I found myself washed up in our house. That is, the house that I shared with my wife, Aimee, and my kid, Dougie, and my dog, Dog(…gie?)
I had had a rough go of ...

More for your enjoyment than anything, here's 1-247 of the book near final (just a few formatting issues and a couple of typos currently being fixed). Just yesterday, we got the first go of the rest of the book (248-368) and we're grinding on that now.
I am so excited with how gorgeous it's coming out. I am determined to make it the best book we've ever done... If anything jumps out at you, please email it to acell@me.com
Thanks!

The music sits upon the page, but it is not really contained there. It already sprang to life in the mind of the musician, alive and writhing some time before. Spinning to push the hand that set it out, flat, to be released upon the world. The music hangs in the air between the notes as they are played, as much as inside those notes. It is a worm that, upon entering the world, infests the brains of others, spinning them up, making them play it in the ghost-voice of their minds, or on instrume...

This is — by far — the most difficult project I've ever created. Despite this, it is a joy to work on it, and do everything I can to make it as perfect as possible. We're in the final stretch now!

When we moved to the old house, that's when I found out there were ghosts, but not like scary ghosts. Mom said this was it, the end of the line buddy before I was packed off somewhere just like dad used to threaten. Back before he didn't say anything anymore. If you're unlucky, sometimes people get sick, was all mom usually said about him. When she was drunk she'd say it different, she'd say: If you're lucky sometimes people die.
We weren't...

Kingsport was old. Almost as old as you could get really. At least by American standards. The ruins of the church were laid sometime in the 1640s or 50s. Today it's nothing but old stones, fallen ceilings, ruined arches. But it was always like that to me. Ruins overgrown with moss, a spray of gravestones with names like GILMAN and CARTER, tilted at crazy angles by roots and the slow moving earth. The dead surrounding the ruins of the church to the king of the dead.
My earlie...
