Cawdor Gang - Part 7

Hi Gang,

I painted up the first new Ganger for the Cawdor boys'n girls.
This one was tough, mainly because of the skin.
I wanted something pale, irritated and unhealthy looking, but with enough contrast and colour variation.
After several attemts, I think I am close to being happy now.

Used mixes of Burnt Red, Malefic Flesh, Pale Flesh and White Flesh (all Vallejo) and glazed in some Dark Sea Blue from time to time.
LOT of back and forth here...

Also, even thoug...

Cawdor Gang - Part 6

Hi Gang,

with all the new Cawdor releases I decided to build a few new models for my gang.
Since i'm not a huge fan of the original Redemptionist models, but would like to add some to the gang, I decidded to kitbash or convert a few including:
A Hive Preacher (Hanger on), A Redemptionist Proest (Leader) and two gangers or juves equipped with an Eviscerator and a Flail.

The Hive Preacher is made from a Redemptionist body and legs combined with the upper torso of the Dialogu...

Color Guide - Cargo-8 Ridgehauler - 2

Hi Gang,

finally managed to finish this huge piece of awesomeness - the Cargo 8 Ridge Hauler.
Well, one crew member is still missing, thinking about using him for a different project.

From time to time I have projects I can't or won't make propper pdf tutorials from, since a lot of experimenting is involved or I just need to paint something for myself.

In those cases I still want to provide you lovely people with something I would like to call color guides. Basicly a d...

Cawdor Gang - Part 5

Hey Gang,
sorry for being a bit quiet here, unfortunately my land lord decided to renovate the flat above us and the guys managed to burst a water pipe rendering my hobby space unusable, demaging several art pieces and destroying equipment.
I'm still trying to adjust to the new situatuion.

In the meantime, I finally painted up this guy I converted quite a while ago to keep the happy family growing.

Thank you for your support!
Have a great week,

Cargo-8 Ridgehauler

Hi Gang,

happy to say I finally made a start on the big boy.
Still a lot of work to do but wanted to share what happened so far with you.

Going for a somewhat camo look with this one to blend in with the wastes.
I think a bit more black would have been a good idea, and I need to figure out a way to fix these transfers. They seemed not to love my varnish...

Now onto the crew and probably the container for the back.

Hope you like him too and as alway:

Hope you enjoy and happy painting!

Dusback Helamites and general color scheme

Hi Gang,
I managed to finish up the first cute bug.
This project is kinda funny, since I spent a lot of time thinking about the color scheme for the nomads and the bugs, finally came up with an idea, painted them and realised it's basicly the box art. But darker. Well. I like them anyways.

The whole color scheme is based on the idea to paint these small containers the Nomads have hanging everywhere in a dirty white with nice rust effects and griddy looking, yelloish tubes connect...

Your opinion please

Hey Gang,

since I'm currently working on the tutorial for the Kroot, I wanted
to ask what you would prefere for this and future tutorials:

- One big PDF in which all steps are combined (similar to the Cawdor one)
or
- More smaller PDF that each treat one part at a time, like one pdf for the skin , one pdf for the Leather, one for Nmm...

Please let me know what you like more :-)

Ash Waste Nomads Wy'tari Stormcaller - 2

Hi gang.
I managed to make some progress on the Stormcaller.
Finally found something to build him a staff from. I used a piece of the backback from the Mechanicus Technoarcheologist combined with the tip of the chain lance from the Dustback Helemite kit. And I think I like it.

Decided to change the position of one of the front legs to make him look more dynamic but still sturdy to keep the distinction from the other bugs.

Also did some changes to the bionic leg of the...

Dusback Helamites - 1

Hi Gang,

unfortunately not too much hobby time atm besides making tutorials, but I decided to take a short break from building the Storm Caller and tried some colors fot the Dusback Helamites.
So far i'm very happy how this one is coming together.

I repainted the head, lower body and the end of the legs several times.
Went from dark, desaturated blue (last image) to a less darker green which both looked way too colourfull for my taste. So I ended up using a dark and cold re...

Ash Waste Nomads Wy'tari Stormcaller

Hi Gang,

I decided to try and kitbash my own Wy‘tari Stormcaller, since i'm not the biggest fan of the forge world model. (and the price is a joke)
So far I am quite happy with where this is going but I'm struggeling with his staff. The purpose of it is, that he is able to change the weather in the wastes  and it also works as a lance meIee weappon. I don't like the one on the original model since it doesn't look like he would be able to charge with this thing.

I built t...

Ash Waste Nomads Gang - 1

Hi Gang,

I'm happy to say that I finally managed to find some time and start building an Ash Wastes Nomads gang. Was a huge fan of the models right from the start, and I guess it would be a shame to have an Ash Wastes board, but no Nomads gang.
So jeah, here we go I guess. They are all converted to a certain degree, because I simply have to..., and most of them are magnetised since i'm not sure yet how tu run them in the game. I will also probably order the bugs soon and build some o...

Update on the Ash Wastes board - 5

Hi Gang,

hope you are all doing fantastic!
Wanted to give you a quick update on the Ash Wastes board: finally started painting up the lovely pipelines for a game on sunday :-)
I will probably paint in some more details and need to figure out what to do with the plasma coils.
I'm really not sure what to do with those... I'm afraid blue glowing OSL would simply be too much for the board.

Maybe you guys have an idea what to do with those?

Have a great weekend with hope...

Cursed City Showcase

Hi Gang,

last weekend I finished probably my biggest project so far whan it come to the number of miniatures painted: The Cursed City Box.

Started this project back in April and slowly but steadily worked my way through the box.
Great minis all the way, a lot of variety and chance to test and learn new thinkgs.

Gotta say I'm quite proud of this one for making it to the finish line and not making too many compromises along the way when it comes to quality. (don't look too ...

Ash Wastes Bounty Hunter

Hey Gang,
over the christmas holidays I managed to finish this Ash Wastes Bounty Hunter.
The base model is from the Corvus Cabale Kit from War Cry. Just swapped the head, added the tarp and equipped her with a needle pistol and some esher bits.
I think she might also work quite well as an Esher Death Maiden and got me thinking maybe building a whole gang out of these in the future.

The next PDF Tutorial will follow tomorrow.

Until then, keep painting :-)

Cursed City

Hey Gang,

as some of you might have seen, I'm still working my way through all the aweseome models from the Cursed City box.
Originally started this project in April deciding on trying to paint the whole box, trying to keep the level of painting to level I am happy with.
So here we are, 8 month later and I finally managed to finish the last hero.

Now there are only a few zombies and markers left paint.
Might actually pull it off :-)

Thanks and have a great day, View Post

Cawdor Gang - Part 4

Knight in not so shiny armor.

I finished the next ganger for my little Cawdor Gang which is growing rapidly.
Fun conversion with a sword from the AOS "Freeguild Greatswords" since there are no official Cawdor models with great sword available and it's one of my favorite weapons in the game.

Cawdor Gang - Part 3

Hey Gang,

little Update on the ongoing build of my Cawdor Gang:

Hope you like him.

Kroot Bounty Hunter for the Ash Wastes

Hi Gang,

I startet a new, fun project to get a break from painting up all those Cawdor boys and girls:
A Kroot Bounty Hunter,
roaming the Necromunda Ash Wastes to hunt down his pray.

The model is from the "Into the Dark" Kill Team box and I kept the conversion to a minimum since he already looks very wastes ready with all the robes and his mask.
I simply changed his Kroot rifle for a long rifle from the Cawdor weapon upgrade kit and glued on some chopped off hands on th...
