I was inspired by this cool novel by Laura Pugno, "Sirene" (it's in Italian but I would keep an eye out for translations because it's REALLY good), which is basically half a sci-fi novel and half twisted fairytale about this unspecified not-so-distant future where mermaids are kept in captivity for meat and breeding. Ok so, you guys wanted mermay trephacard and my brain bullied me into this whole concept of fisherman/mermaid hunter! Trevor, merman Alucard and sea witch Sypha and now you will have to get into it too. Trevor gets hired to catch local merman Alucard, wrongfully accused by the village people of drowning their people out at sea, and Sea Witch Sypha has to prevent it.

Merbinghe (TW: blood)

Local ocean nerd Shen Yuan accidentally wounded something large out at sea with his harpoon and the last thing he expected to come out of it is a large, flirty merman to come ashore to woo him. Long story short: now merbinghe lives in his bathtub while he gets back to full health (Binghe may or may not play up the severity of his wound to get Shen Yuan to let him stay longer).

As some of you may know, I've adopted a little stray kitten in December 2021. She is just the sweetest thing and my first pet ever and I'm utterly and completely smitten with her. So, naturally, I filled two sketchbook pages with studies of (some of) my favorite pictures of hers.
