Is This Bottomless Pit A friend Of Yours?

Next up this month was Pocahontas' loveable pal Meeko as the next character to add to our collection. Considering he's one of the more complex characters he was a pretty straightforward model to sculpt, I really enjoyed making his little arms and tiny hands, and to my surprise the head dress actually turned out to be super easy! it also included a little bit of practice for one of our Halloween models we've got coming out next month, no spoilers.

To paint Meeko I used Valejo Silver with...

Meeko Wip

A little sneak peak of ornamental Meeko, I went with a more floral theme this time since the movie is based around nature, I think he's turned out really well and I'm excited to see the print. He's all finished and currently on print so hopefully if all goes well he'll be up on the page in the morning!

Thanks,

Harley

025. Meeko (Intro)

Meeko is Pocahontas' cute and funny raccoon sidekick with a love of food, especially John Smith's biscuits, which he spends half of the movie pursuing.

For his pose I've decided to model him pulling his iconic tough guy pose from the scene where he is making fun of Kocoum while wearing the Native American head dress. I think this is such a good pose for Meeko as it showcases his mischeivious and funny side and it just looks really cool. I also want to capture his ...

Meeko Rose

Set the table with the latest addition to our rose collection, featuring the hungry raccoon Meeko! He'll make the perfect center piece for a forest themed feast or look right at home nestled in among the rest of the collection.

To print Meeko I used standard settings with tree supports on Prusa slicer, the rose models print fine on either resin or FDM but the supports are a bit of a challenge to remove so I would recommend printing them in resin if possible to save your fingers. I print...

The cookie box is a replica of the one Alice finds on the floor after first arriving in Wonderland, it prints in 2 parts with a lid and base that can be held together using small pieces of filament inserted into the hinges. Just to note for long term use its advisable to make the box food safe, but it can also be used as a lovely decorative box or even a place to store your cooki...

Anyone Can Cook... But Only The Fearless Can Be Great

Little chef Remy was our first character out this month and I'm glad to say the model came out beautifully! the fur texture picked up nicely and the patterns and details have all really added a lot to the model. His face also turned out really cute so I'm glad I chose to keep his mouth closed in the end, I also decided to leave his whiskers off which would have been way too fine to print and thickening them up just ended up taking away from it.

To paint Remy I mixed Valejo Arctic Blue, ...

The patterned version of Remy is now available below! Once again I've included a solid version and a hollowed version to prevent resin pockets in the spoon. I printed him at about 10cm which makes him a little smaller than our Mickey model, he also has no thin or fine areas so he should print fine on either Resin or FDM.

Remy Wip

Just a little sneak peak of ornamental Remy so far, I went with super fancy patterns this time because he's a super fancy rat, but I love the way they've turned out so far he almost reminds me of a royal guard from the back. I just have his head to finish now and he should be up on the page in the next few hours!

Thanks

024. Remy (Intro)

Remy is a very talented rat who dreams of becoming a world famous chef in Disney's Ratatouille.

For his pose I'm going to model him holding his wooden spoon and wearing his little chef's hat, sitting like he is in the picture below, I think it'll have a nice combination of cuteness as well as represent what he does quite well. Being one of my favourite characters, I've been quite excited to work on this one for a while and I think he's gonna make an awesome new model fo...

I printed mine at 8cm tall which makes it a little bigger than an actual cupcake and a good size for storage, it also locks in place with a twist function to prevent things from falling out.

Then we started off our ongoing Beauty and the Beast tea set by adding Mrs. Potts & Chip as our next character models, alongside some Beauty and the Beast inspired...

We've Got A Lot To Do, Is It One Lump Or Two?

Mrs. Potts was our next character model out this month to accompany Chip. I always find the simpler models to be the hardest so this one was a bit of a challenge proportion wise but I think she turned out pretty nicely in the end.

To paint her I used Valejo Polished Gold for her trim, Arctic Blue for her eyes, Arteza Pearl White for her main body and Space Gray for her details. For her base and lid I used Lilac, Pearl Pink and Glacier Blue.

I already mentioned the Beauty and the B...

023. Mrs. Potts (Intro)

Mrs. Potts is the mother of Chip and head housekeeper at the castle in Beauty and the Beast, she was transformed into an enchanted teapot when the curse was cast on the castle.

Personality wise she's kind and nurturing but she also has a tough no-nonsense demeanor, like in the scene where she scolds Chip for blowing bubbles. Although this would tie in with the Chip model nicely, I'd rather showcase her happy and loving side because I think she's associated more with tha...

The son of Mrs. Potts, Chip is an adorable and charming teacup who befriends Belle and ends up helping her and her father escape the village trap.

For the model I'm going to recreate his iconic bubble blowing pose like in the bottom left. You May Have Noticed I'm Not All There Myself

The first of this months character models was everyone's favourite crazy cat, Alice in Wonderland's Cheshire Cat. I was a little on the fence about this one before I started but I'm really pleased with the end result and his strange pose ended up making this such a fun and unique model to sculpt!
