I recently bought and played thru Cursed Castilla, a Ghosts 'n' Goblins-like platformer. It's pretty crazy difficult, but not too long, and very well made.
Unfortunately, there's no princess to save, no damsels in distress, not even any seducing succubi. Just the "final" boss, a woman who went mad with grief and signed a pact with demons, releasing them into the world and becoming one herself.

A patron suggested I look up a game called Marvelous, so I did. It's a Japanese-only (but with a fan-translation online) Super Famicom game about, from what I can tell, 3 guys camping somewhere.
